I’ve never understood plastic clothes, only put up with it in sports gear cause I have to.

Cotton, wool or linen for normal clothes.

It does seem that some blends are pretty good these days, I’ll admit.

Some plastic clothes just don’t have any SPF in proper sun.

I’ve learned the hard way that one of my race t shirts & one of my groovier SS shirts just allow the sun to pour through.

£5 sale on Versus socks again. Just cycling socks this time.

Adverts for two companies this week with cheap clothing. I suspect too cheap to be true…and no mentions of the companies on google beyond their own websites.

Harrison Cycles London selling “Rapha” matching kits for ~£40
Lineold Shop Cycle Clothing selling MAAP kit for <£20.

Are these fake sites everywhere and the algorithm has only just found me?

I saw one for a very cheap Canyon outlet a few weeks ago so flagged it as the link looked suspicious.

I did spot recently that Temu or another similar site (can’t remember exactly… was in my Goog ads) were selling cheap “Pas Normal Studios” (wink wink nod nod) bib shorts. So the Chinese factories have spotted a market for knock-off cycling kit.

There has been Tri club WhatsApp chat about the Harrison’s cycles link being dodgy.

Always a case of if it smells like shit, looks like shit, it is shit!

There’s that leopard print dry robe you’ve been after…

When I was in Asda earlier I noticed they were selling a few bits Decathlon cycling stuff, mostly accessories like a telescopic track pump, lights etc. if anyone needs a few cheap and cheerful things but not near a Decathlon.

Similar to @Poet s criticisms of Rapha, I’ve found Decathlons quality to be shocking in recent years (different audience, I appreciate).

I got some bibshorts last year, cheap emergency purchase while I was in France, should have been comfy but almost castrate me when I wear them! But I think they’re probably a small fit and a size up would have been less painful. Can barely manage 40 minutes in the garage with them.

But others have been luckier.

I bought my girlfriend some Rapha kit recently, the quality was shocking, the logo started peeling after a few washes.

Lol I had the same experience with very small decathlon shorts :joy:

That’s a shame. There’s always been a bit of variety in quality. I always thought Kiprun Kalenji was at least passable.

Kiprun is good enough for Jimmy Gressier the - Kiprun sponsored - 10,000m World Champion.

£300 off a Wattbike Atom for BF and a few overpriced extras chucked in, also available on 10 months 0%

I know original has seen better days and I did have a brief go on an Atom recently but still prefer the direct replacement, they’re currently only advertised to businesses though, they might sell to the public if asked or I’d need to set up Belt-E exercise consultancy

Merlin have a full 105 Di2 12 speed groupset on offer at £750 which seems good, but not sure I need it! And although I think the cassette will fit on an 11 speed freehub it would be the only bike with 12 speed.

I’m also thinking of replacing the front brake on the TT bike with a hyrdraulic disc, shouldn’t be a huge job.

That’s probably better than the 105 I posted as it includes rotors as well.
