Went for a dip in La Manche this evening at Weymouth. Here’s Mrs FT with #3 about 20 metres out from the shore, with a small cargo ship in the background.
I was at a swim meet yesterday with Mrs FB and one of the swimmers didn’t do so well in the 1500m Free. Comment “was feeling a bit tired”. They’re training to swim the Channel and had done a 6hr swim the day before ffs. A “bit’” tired…..
a real tough gig for Kevin…hot days but a chilly night on the run down to Dover…a tough swim with a problem shoulder that had developed in the training…which led to a really hard bike with torn shoulder muscles…
Oh wow, good luck to him and the whole team. Must be mentally very challenging, knowing you’ve got to do the whole thing again after celebrating your arrival in Paris. I presume once he starts moving again, it’ll be business as usual.
That’s 2 x 181 miles in 29 hours 34 minutes for Mayank Vaid…the run from Dover to Marble Arch, London and back to Dover begins tomorrow afternoon…then it;s fingers crossed that we get a swim window on Wednesday…
well…that was tough…a good 20 hour pace until about 2 marathons in…but it was bloody cold (relatively speaking) in kent last night and the pace dropped, finishing at Marble Arch in a little under 24 hours. At least a 28 - 30 hour run back would leave little or no energy for a double swim…and so Mayank called it a day in London…
