Yep. Non wetsuit
6.5 hours. In separation zone.
Conditions stunning early. Now a bit of confused chop

The sea where I am (25 miles west of Brighton) is like a millpond today and the weather is glorious. Although as you say it’s confused chop (all those bloody container ships etc. don’t help) I’m sure it could have been 100 times worse. What a day for it. The current track looks good and I hope the tides work in his favour.
Also, huge respect for the non-wetsuit swim.
Second today. With French military escort
Just putting this here for those not following the tracker.
needs to sort his sighting out
(yes i know )
Tide one way, wind pushing us the other
Seems like we are holding station
Looks like the tide will hopefully be most favourable now. Hope the wind and sea state is also behaving itself. Swim strong.
almost there
helluva way to swim
Congratulations to Paul and the team, bet walking on sand never felt so good
Good job coach
Just watched him landing en France on Insta live…awesome
incredible stuff. Literally the first thing I read when I got up at 5.30am local time was this bloke getting in the water. Now I’m going to bed at 9pm and he’s just getting out. A whole long day in the English Channel.
With no wetsuit
what’s next, straight onto the bike? or a kip and warm up?
Thank you for your support everyone. We really value it.
The last four hours were a fight to not get pushed beyond the cap - as happened to a relay team who are still out there.
Need a good recovery plan before deciding on bike. The record is achievable. But safety first.
Does he need to go back to Calais to start, or can the bike start from where he comes ashore?
You need to charge your phone!
It was quite emotional watching the last strokes on instagram live. The pure joy everyone felt
You get the boat back into Calais, then start the bike from there
Le depart
01:04
We took an extra hour in T2 for safety which might put the record attempt at risk
18 hours to get to Paris
Not a TT bike then?
edit: You must be knackered @explorerJC , 2nd night with minimal kip I’m guessing? Drive safe between you
