Fantasy TdF 2023: ***NO SPOILERS BEFORE 8PM HIGHLIGHTS***

I wonder if Pog has been told not to win too much, as it raises unwanted attention/questions.

So three mountain tops in a row. Might just leave Pog as captain for all of them, no point guessing who else might get in the mix.

I don’t think there’s any evidence of that so far and he seems to be scrapping for extra seconds over his GC rivals on every stage.

Per the other thread, I’m hoping he does a ā€œYates Giro 2018ā€ and burns himself out chasing scraps in the opening stages and blows up spectacularly in the 3rd week, but that’s probably wishful thinking :man_shrugging:

Thank you, ma Lord

No. Tomorrow is a pseudo-rest day for the GC teams.
It’s not a ā€œmountain topā€ finish.
It’s 21.5km at 4.1% :joy:
That’s shallower than the Cat and Fiddle or Skye Road round here - they’re 10km climbs that I excel on…

…which is why I’ll say Ganna for tomorrow :exploding_head:
Followed by Schacmann and Geschke.

First 20km is downhill, so the break won’t establish until after the second climb at 46km (so about an hour based on current stage average speeds)

it’s all about stage 12 and Bastille day. (If you close your eyes…)

Forgot to pick my captain again so its Pog FTW please. Should have picked Nielsen yesterday as he scored more points than Pog without the double points

Well, yesterdays predictions were utterly abysmal.

I’ve gone with Pog today…even though he basically now only has two riders without Covid who look like they can ride a bike with him (Berg and McNulty)

There’s is zero chance UAE can control any stage whatsoever. So I’m expecting INEOS and TJV to make a monumental challenge on UAE today and tomorrow.
Today will be about grinding them down, tomorrow will be lights out. Although Thomas doesn’t seem keen on being anywhere close to UAE for the Covid :microbe:

Expect Pidcock and Ganna to be in the break.
Then for TJV, I reckon Roglic and Benoot will be up there, too.

…however, I reckon the following will be keen to try something;

Thomas
Bardet
Pinot

Remember, most of today will be like Outlaw 2013, above 2000m, with very little descending really.

Whatever happens today, I’m expecting Pog to go :boom: at some point today or tomorrow.
It’s gonna be :fire::fire::fire:

I’m on site all afternoon, so need to ditch my phone and not get today spoiled by some errant news feed!

I shall now bow out of this thread until tonight.

So far I’ve avoided the result & who was in the breaks but I gather today’s stage was excellent.

I’m camping atm, but there is a gazebo area that has wifi & I’m going to pop along later with a couple of chilled drinks.

My question is, how much of the stage should I watch on the Eurosport player or should I watch the ITV4 highlights at 7pm?

ALL OF IT
(On ITV highlights)

I watched it live and am watching it again at 7pm :+1:t3:

The big moves came about 65km from the finish, so probably the last 2 hours

It’s 20:04 so I can talk.

How the F am I in 12th today when I brought Vingegaard onto my team yesterday?

Only saw the 8 min highlights so I’ll have to watch the proper one later.

Would guess because everyone above also has him. I added him 2 days ago and if I had put him ss the bonus rider I could have jumped into the top 10.

My close enemies didn’t when I checked their previous days teams, so I feel justified in my ire!

The stage winner bonus only counts if they actually win right? It doesn’t just double whatever points they get?

It doubles their on the day points (not jersey points) not just if they win.

That’ll be part of it then, I still had Kamne.

Is it 2018 again?
I hope so.

Let’s see G taking the win on AdH today :wales::wales:šŸ“󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳ó æ
However, I can’t see Ineos trying anything :sob:
They’ll just wait to see what Pogacar does and hope to not give him and the remnants of his team a free ride.

Pogacar is going to have a fire in his belly today, burning so intensely that we might see one of the most unbelievable rides in modern times.

Vingegaard is going to be cream crackered, but TJV are just so strong, that he can be protected all day. I don’t expect much from them today, other than D-Fence.

But … today starts with an immediate ascent of the side of Galibier they came down yesterday. It’s warm, slight headwind and Bastille Day. The French riders will be yearning for a win on AdH. :fr::baguette_bread::fr:

So…breakaway goes, containing Pinot and Barguiel.

Then GC battle further back. With TJV doing the old Team
Sky death March of yore.

Barguil looked proper fecked when Quintana came past him yesterday.

He’s not doing anything today🤣

Pog to destroy them today from corner 5 onwards

How long does Pog need to recover from yesterday, that’s the question?

He may sit in today along with the rest of the GC contenders. I’m expecting a French breakaway to take the glory.
