Winner!
Yep. Great solution. Annoyed I never thought of that!
As I’ve sent my 735 back for repair/exchange I’m back using the 920. Didn’t realise how friging huge this thing is and already after a couple of weeks I’ve forgotten which buttons to press.
HRV Stress on Garmin
My Garmin seems to think that I am the least stressed person in the world. My Daily stress score is between 12 and 24
this is what Garmin Says
“Your stress level is recorded throughout the day. A level from 0 to 25 is a state of rest. Anything from 26 to 50 is a low stress level. 51 to 75 is medium stress and 76 to 100 is high stress.”
So when I am not exercising I am resting apparently
Wanna swap, mine frequently says I have had almost no restful moments today. What is stress though? It can be about how well recovered you are from training, it could also be induced by stressfull situations.
Mine is always higher at work. My job is a little stressful, not massively so, no one dies if I fuck up. However, I am a worrier and probably get more stressed that someone else in my role would.
I also notice after drinking a lot of wine next day it will be high.
Its interesting to look at my stats but I am not sure what it does for me.
My annual appraisals normally say things like “Safe pair of Hands” (which I hate), “unflappable under pressure” etc
My wife says that I am like a stuffed frog
That’s a new one on me!!
Mine is generally low 20s. To be fair it did go up for a couple of days when i was really stressed at work, which is a rarity, but on the whole i’m not so sure what it is showing really.
What is it measuring to come up with a figure? just HR, or is there some other algorithm. Mine is always low, even when I fell like punching a hole in the wall.
Its Heart Rate Variability. The gap between heartbeats. The more variability the better rested or less stressed you are. Its It’s something to do with the differences between the sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous system
Decided to now rip off the plaster and send my faulty 935 back before it’s a year old. I guess they’ll just refund me and I’ll need to buy another; probably a 945 now I guess…should get £339 back.
ETA: The 945 is £519. Forget that!
They just keep replacing mine with a reconditioned unit (first time I got brand new, boxed, with HRMs). It also seems to reset the warranty because my last replacement was >2yrs after my original purchase yet still replaced no questions asked, once they had the serial number.
I also cannot justify a 945, even if they did just asked for the difference. But they have stopped releasing new firmware features to the 935, so they don’t seem to offer a triathlon watch without all the storage and overhead of the 945.
I got mine from Wiggle, who generally just refund I think, and they deal with Garmin.
I sent my 735 back as the swim distance alert didn’t work. Got a shiny new one in a box but the swim distance alert doesn’t work on this one either. Suspect it’s a software glitch and not a watch fault as the other alerts work fine. Can anyone with a 735 test it in a pool?
I’ve got a 735 but never used the swim alerts. Not swimming until Saturday but will give it a whirl.
Ps. Set it to 4 lengths but can try a different distance if you like.
Thanks, I’d appreciate it.
I’ll give it a shot on Friday
Right that’s the 935 in the post back to Wiggle; I sprung for Special Delivery to cover the value! Wiped all the exercise files; they’re welcome to the rest of the data.
Fingers crossed for news of refund/replacement by midweek.
Thanks Adam suspected as much, I’ll not bother sending this one back then.
