Garmin questions

Yep. Just have to hit the star / favourite button on strava on the routes you want pushed over

Hmm, that could be pretty neat then.

Can you star someone else’s ride/run do you know? Cos that would be ace.

No, I don’t think you can. Which has always been a slight frustration on strava. You have to have created the route yourself. Unlike routes created on Garmin connect where, if you have the link, you can push anything to your own devices

Yeah, that would be really handy if you saw someone do a cool route that you could just take.

I believe on the desktop version you can create a route of someone’s else’s ride.

Click on the 3 dots on the left hand side

There’s the man with the skills! That could be very handy for me for me when I start riding again, as I don’t know all the more cycle friendly back roads etc once I get further than about a 10 mile radius from the house. :ok_hand:t3:

Awesome. Thanks for pointing me to that! I think maybe what I’ve struggled with before then is if someone else creates a route and makes it public, there’s no way (I have yet found…!) to get that route into my list of strava routes.

If you can solve that one for me, that would be awesome!

Think you will need Strava premium or whatever it is called nowadays.

So yes I’m a summit member so let me know if this doesn’t appear for you.

So using the iOS app. Look at someone’s profile and their routes at the bottom of the page.

I’ve got the ability to star their route. This then appears in my routes and will upload to my Wahoo and now Garmins

You might be able to do on desktop but I could see it using my phone.

Blimey. Unless that has changed as part of this update, how have I missed that it’s that easy!
Just been able to get a route of yours to my 945 in about 5s!

This is a really useful feature development. The old strava routes connect iq app was clunky and regularly crashed for me.

Yep dead easy. So much easier than downloaded the gpx file and uploading it.

Strava have done well there

Does anyone own a Garmin wearable that has lasted 10 years

i reckon my 305 would still work if i booted it up

Probably before stuff was built with obsolescence in mind

I’m still using the HRM that came with my 305, prefer it to the new ones if not bothered about running metrics.
Changed the elastic once plus a few batteries but main section still the original one.

Thought you were going to do a Trigger then

This. My 305 was an absolute workhorse, never let me down.

That said, wouldn’t fancy taking it open water swimming.

The 305 was brilliant and the last watch that gave me accurate current pace.

Actually found mine in a drawer today whilst looking for a cable. I was gonna boot it up, but I can’t find the cradle for it.
