Garmin questions

Loving the CIQ Apps, especially this one (just a shame they’ve not developed an NP field…the other dashboard has one, but not enough configurable fields)

… Not a job for a man of your talents?

Just c# isn’t it , think you can use VS to build and test. I messed about with VS2019 and xamarin (using c#) to try cross platform dev (but gave up as apple are shit for allowing independent developers to release to appstore and android studio with java works well)

Okay kids, choices!

Garmin 745 or 945?

Not bothered about 945 extra non-tri features, but the battery life and extra song space appeals massively.

But will I ever need 1,000 songs on a jog?
And I’ll be charging it every evening as I don’t wear a watch in bed.

DC Rainmaker is far too in depth.
Only differences I’d use are battery and songs.

So, waddya think?

What do you have now?

I wouldn’t charge the watch every night. Its best to keep the batteries in the 40 to 80% range. Charging it to 100% every night will shorten its life span.

Extra music storage would be good purely so you’ve got choice and don’t have to keep adding stuff. Even if you don’t use all of it at once

I’ve got the 745 & the only real complaint I have is that the plastic screen is soft and scores easily. I’m not 100& but I think the 945 is Gorilla glass.
I charge the 745 every 2 weeks or so but I’m only swimming so not using GPS.

No music on the 745.

You can get screen protectors, which I wish I’d known when I got my 935!
I’ve had it nearly 4 years but about a month after getting it, I tumbled badly on a trail run in Portugal, scratched the screen a bit but luckily on the edge where it doesn’t affect data view.
I didn’t bother with a protector after that but it’s been fine, despite me falling over a ‘few’ times.

I’m running spotify off my 745.

FR920XT.
October 2014 release date.

Technology moves quickly man :exploding_head:

There’s nowt really wrong with it, but my new cycling computer has shown me what the newer stuff is like :see_no_evil:

RE: Music

I’d just feed it a few Spotify dynamic playlists
(Most recent played / top 100 songs / etc)

Then whack that on shuffle :+1:t3:

I had a 645 prior to this 745. Only really upgraded as the 645 was pants in OW.
But I do love the music integration. So convenient - not just for running and stuff tho, just handy to have it without needing to lug the phone around.
Lots of nice widgets and watch faces for you to play around with too

Yep thats all I do - got about 3 on the watch. 100 odd songs on each. Dead easy to update them every now and again to refresh them (should you wish).

There are some rumors of new watches coming out very soon, Fenix 7 etc. so maybe a 955 as well.

Might be some price drops on the 945

Yeah, Fenix are massive, so that’s a no from me.

Going to wear it as my daily :see_no_evil:

Since getting an Apple Watch, I’ve not worn any of my other watches, so I sold them all.

I’d like the Garmin to replace the Apple Watch and my 920XT.
