Never really cared before as my 735 has done everything I want it to do but that new screen on the forerunners looks very swish. Getting a bit of watch envy - if that’s a thing
How much time do you spend looking at your watch? However much it is - stop doing it and run more
Quite a bit considering it’s on my wrist - but yes, I get your point
A Wahoo Bolt question…
I’m visiting my parents & found the gpx of a gravel route I fancied. I put it in my Strava routes & transferred it to my Wahoo as I have done a few times in the past.
All was good for the first 10km or so when I took a slightly incorrect path which ran parallel to the one I needed. As it veered away the red lights started flashing & I turned onto the correct path.
Unfortunately it was too late & my Wahoo had shit itself & completely lost the route.
Why was this? In the past I’ve got away with small errors & carried on happily. Was it because the area I was in had very poor phone signal?
As it was I trusted in my fitness & the fact that the forest was bracketed by roads & had a fantastic ride .
Thinking I will trade up my 6x for a 965. Had been considering the epix but the 965 is usefully slimmer
Will probably do the same with my 945. Did you see DCR’s comparison of them both a few days ago.
General impression is that both are good but I can’t see why you’d pay a lot ££ for the Epix unless you play golf or one of the other sports it supports.
Does sound a bit weird - whenever I’ve veered off track you can normally see the arrowed route on the map screen.
You can go to the map screen during a ride a reload the route again
I could go to the map screen, but there was no breadcrumb trail to follow & the route I’d cycled had disappeared as well .
Not sure if I could see a reload option, will look next time .
Saw it was posted, haven’t watched it yet.
My only concern was it’s ability to read power meter data, but it seems they have that covered.
Lick the leaves. Calibrate North. Onward.
Yeah if you just reload it like you would at the start of the ride it ‘should’ come up.
I have changed routes mid ride before after changing my mind but it does sound a bit weird though
I’m not sure what’s going on with my Fenix 6 this afternoon. It automatically sends Mrs W a tracker because she worries about me when I’m out of the house . I took the dogs for a walk to our local park and I got a phone call from Mrs W - “are you OK? Your tracker says you’re in Hackney ”
She thought some scrote had mugged me and stolen my watch and phone
I’ve no idea what went wrong, but the GPS trace looks nothing like the actual activity. The location on the watch looks fine now, so hopefully it was just a temporary blip and it’ll be back to normal next time.
Just bought a 965 from Wiggle, supposed to be arriving on Thursday!
Clearly this will turn my current form from crap to Olympian within a day
So do we think the 955 / 255 will get a price reduction?
Battery on my 735 seems to be getting worse at a rapid rate and I broke the friggin strap this week
I thought I saw a 955 discounted a week or two ago but can’t remember where.
You might find the 55 is good enough
Is it specific tri watch though?
Open water swim etc? I didn’t think it did
Well, I’m wondering if it’s worth the extra £100 for the one open water swim most TTers do per year…
Joking/not joking #sharks
It does pool training
He’s an Ironman
Me too and I’m still only open water for racing and it’s kinda pointless tracking that anyway.
