Actually I think it’s the amount your hr dropped in the few minutes after stopping.
Also, not a good sign.

Also, as above, I got a 265 in the end. Great watch.

How do you like the screen for running? Do you find the little lag when turning your wrist OK? It does sometimes annoy me a bit but I like the screen all other times so not sure I’d want to go back to an old style screen
Yeah, the screen just makes me happy. I just look at it for a dopamine hit!
Sometimes it doesn’t light up when I want it to, but lag hasn’t bothered me.
I think upthread I found you can make it always on in the settings.
The screen is really good, I found it a bit more accurate in cities as well, still took the odd wrong turn
Can you navigate by it? Does it blink for left and right, or does it show a map?
It shows a map in decent resolution, and with a direction arrow, also depending on settings it will alert on an upcoming turn. It does sometimes get confused where you sometimes go from a cycle path to main path etc., but if you overshoot or miss your turn it usually starts nagging that I’m going the wrong way.
This is the 965 though, and previously on the 945. Brilliant for running in other places on holiday or on the trails.
So Indo this when I get new watches to see if there has been a step change.
I compared the FR265 HRM against my old FR45+ paired with a Dual HRM.
I set off and the Dual seemed to recognise the increase in HR quicker. Myself checking occasionally they seemed broadly inline except when the Dual was briefly 10bpm ahead of the FR. Things got much worse at the track though:
FR265 alone:
Things are not looking good for the Dual:
The FR45 died on the way home, but I checked the Dual and it has 85% charge. I sweat buckets but the Dual only seemed to register track HR after I shifted it about.
FR265…1
Dual HRM…0
Mrs FB used to use a Vivoactive but has switched to a Coros watch. She has 2 unused USB chargers for the Vivo which are no longer of use - if anyone wants them, DM me and I’ll stick them in the post FOC.
Ha - I literally placed a order on amazon for a pack of two of these earlier this morning. I’m between locations at the moment, and moving one charging cable between multiple sites is getting fiddly.
I could certainly do with another, but happy to let anyone else take them if needed.
Hah, no way.
If you’re still interested in taking them FOC just let me know - no other interest so far
Cool, thanks. Will DM
replied - and another reply just now
My Fenix 6 Pro ran out of charge while I was using it this morning and it powered down. I plugged it in to charge and a green/blue triangle appeared on the screen but now it’s frozen with the triangle. It’s completely unresponsive.
Has anyone experienced this before? Is it likely to be a faulty cable or charging port?
Hard reset and see if it comes back to life? Probably lose all your data though.
soft reset is likely fine, but if not, hard will I’m sure.
That’s done the trick!
Thanks guys
There was a discussion quite a while ago about pressing Garmin watch buttons under water. I always had up until that point but thought it kinda made sense not to so stopped doing it. Fast forward to a couple of weeks ago and my 945 started to show signs of moisture under and around the edge of the watch face.
I bought it pretty much as it was released so that makes it 4, maybe 5, years old now? I contacted Garmin support who confirmed it was out of warranty but they could do an exchange for a recertified 945 for £130. The 945 does everything I need so it seemed sensible to save the money on upgrading to the newer 955/965s which would be £500+.
Cutting out the dull to and fro with Garmin support over the next 10 days, they finally admit they don’t have any 945s in stock. They ask would I like a recertified 955 instead for £110. Sure why not, £20 cheaper for a newer version.
It arrived today. I don’t know what I was expecting but it’s like brand new. I don’t know what they do for a recertified watch but it must include a new case/strap. It’s immaculate. If it lasts another 4 years I’ll be very happy
I’ve done this a few times with Garmin, amazing customer service and such a good deal at these prices.
