Garmin questions

Are you sure it’s not just a flat battery due to lack of use?

2 short commutes, 20mins pilates, 30min lunch run & a club run session…so mostly just fluff to piss off my Strava followers.

You’re getting blocked if you start uploading your walks :joy:

A fair shout. But it’s had heavy use as a watch and a step counter! :joy:

Can’t seem to be able to reset the bloody thing out it the triangle though :rage:

Have you checked the suggestions from DCR?

I’ve read a couple of things online. But haven’t had the time to properly mess about with it yet.

No rush, there’ll be a month or so before you need it.

The lads are trying to get me to enter a race in a couple of weeks! I mean WTAF!

I started watching the DCR video and then thought I’d check to see if my watch was affected before watching the entire video! Bang. Boot loop. Had to do a factory reset, thankfully most of the settings are retained from a back up!

Dont want to tempt fate but no issues. 745 forerunner. Maybe it is good to have older tech. ???

I went to settings on my watch found automatic updates and turned it off. :pray:t2:

Been says it’s effecting Edge as well :grimacing:

Good to see Garmin learnt lessons from Crowdstrike about pushing out content files OTA without proper testing.

I’m curious, do you wear your Garmin 24/7 and why?

I go through spells of wearing a normal watch and then going back to the Garmin 24/7. The stats are interesting but I don’t do anything with them.

I also like wearing a ‘proper’ watch occasionally.

I’ve been generally wearing mine 24/7 for quite a few years, I look at the stats but take a lot with a pinch of salt.

But the step count encourages me to get off my arse!

Yeah wear mine 24/7. Take it off to shower to stop the strap stinking.

I look at the stats out of interest but dont do much with them. Im too stuck onba routine to change based on what the watch tells me. If it says I should rest but I have a swim planned Im going

Mostly 24/7 i like the sleep tracking. Remove it in the shower and wash the back.

I wear a proper watch if I am out somewhere fancy however.

I only wear my Garmin when doing sports.

A battered Casio to take the abuse at work.

A ‘proper’ watch when the occasion calls for it.

Wearing a watch in bed is just odd.

I wear mine 24/7 except for the shower. I’d imagine most of us are up earlier than our other halves & it’s nice that alarm is discrete. The torch is supprisingly usefull too.

Health tracking, and because it’s one less thing to remember to put on. I wear a trisuit all day instead of pants sometimes.

Did I say that out loud?
