I think there’s a bunch of settings for gps you can play with that maybe reduce that time.

If you’ve started running with long sleeves, make sure it’s uncovered until it gets GPS

Still in t-shirts.

I have the most accurate (All satellites & multi band) and most frequently recording. I’m reluctant to change anything as it was improved accuracy that made me buy it.

Whats confusing is that for the first couple of years I never had an issue with it taking a long time to acquire GPS. I’ve not changed any settings.

I can only assume its been caused by am update or some kind of hardware issue has developed.

They’re just trying to give you an excuse to replace it with a newer model

I went to a talk by Garmin reps at the local tri shop (years ago) and they said to clear historic files off the device. I guess it needs memory for processing and doing updates. Not sure if this is a thing anymore though. My 955 seems to work fine, but i’m not training as much as I used to!

I think in the days before Bluetooth connectivity to the phone app you did have to delete files as you were going along because the device had limited capacity.

I assume that happens automatically now?

I think downloaded workouts, ie the thing you follow during exercise, still have to be manually cleared. Occasionally I get a message that too many have been downloaded.

That happens to me semi regularly. Especially if I am doing run workouts as normally most runs are free runs… no workout

PM run didn’t save. Watch reset when I pressed save, and now in history says invalid file 0.00km.

Same happened ~6 months ago. Hope it stays as one offs and the 735 keeps going. No intention of upgrading til it dies or battery life falls too low.

I had this yesterday. I fixed it by Forgetting the watch in my phone’s bluetooth and then pairing again using the watch’s QR code (displaying that varies by model, look it up)

Mine seems alright so far.

“You are running too fast slow down”

Did the phone talk to you?

Mine did on my run this evening.

Hmmmm, could be very interested.

Think so.

Means I can actually wear a dress watch too!
