It’s grandfather!
I wasn’t the first person to scratch!
Two people did less than me.
Been looking at the Sonder Ti Broken Road
Deffo be better with 2.2” tyres and at least 100mm travel up front.
Pinion version??
Eff dat!
£4k on a bike is utterly mental.
but pretty much the norm these days for a decent bike.
So … what are folks thoughts on the MTB entry level SRAM eagle NX groupset?
Obvs, it’s cheap
And not Shimano XT…but you know
If I’m 100% honest, I notice zero difference between my 105 and Ultegra bikes
EDIT: this might be a bit of a paid-for review, but the only difference seems to be weight and materials used?
Ali Brownlee DNF at the Traka 360 gravel because his steerer tube snapped
That’s what you get from Aldi
@Doonhamer - Did you do the Gralloch last year? If so, was it any good? Seems to cover some parts that the Frontier 300 did, which I loved (apart from the draggy bit in Kielder )
I did The Gralloch in '23, I doubt it shares tracks with The Frontier as The Gralloch is a bit further west.
It was pretty good, but super busy & fast. It sounds like I had a similar experience to those that did the UCI qualifier at Ruthin.
Two words I don’t like when off road
I got into Tor Divide instead
Which rowt are you doing?
The 200km gravel one.
First 20km is pretty easy, but the climb up to Stanedge Pole is awful unsure what way he’s taking us to Baslow, but the descent off Longshaw is
Pretty “easy” to Bakewell, then it’s 80km of it is pan flat champagne gravel (I’m not kidding, it’s immense)
Then only 40km until the finish.
Super pleased I emailed them asking if they’d a spot left.
The route I did for my birthday, is very similar terrain to Tor Divide: and I really really enjoyed this one
Interesting.
My ride today I set a bunch of off road segment PRs. But average speed and power exactly the same! NP only 3w different. So whilst the 33mm cross tyres were faster on the trails, it was completely evened-out by the 27mm Pave CGs being quicker on the road.
Freaky that.
I’m just upset about how badly that car needs a wash.
That’s a lovely looking bike though.
For the tyres I guess it depends on how much road v trail you’re regular rides are. Or you need 2 sets of wheels.
I like to have the car in pics, as I know it triggers people here
Do you have a link for that front light under your Garmin? Is it any good?
Scottish Gravel champs entered, better get some training in
