Has the BTF money grabbing finally gone too far with a £12 Race Pass

I can understand why BC would exclude member on member claims when most of their members will take part in group rides and bunch racing. There’s lots of scope for people to cause a crash that takes out multiple riders.

For AG triathlon racing it should be much less likely that they have member on member crashes :man_shrugging:

In my case then I’d suspect that the other party employed their own private solicitors.

I guess it depends when it happened also as you say the insurance now is fine, but it doesnt look like Leigh Day anymore (or maybe its just i havent found references to them)
Its odd but also its costing me 100 a year now, not 25 like it used to.

That kinda kills off my £15 aquathlon entry fee…

There is a six figure hole in the budget this year…

The CEO has resigned…

If you are a member of a tri club then current annual Core membership of BT is £55. That’s more than 4 of these new day licences.

Yup. This is poor.
I think someone (@explorerJC ?) mentioned this elsewhere before the official announcement.

For me, my local sprint is now £60 (about a 2min cycle there). Another local one is £89 :exploding_head:
I’d not enter either of them for £72/101

For a long/middle?
Cotswold113 is now £193, which makes it now £210 - whilst that’s steep, I’d not be put off entirely.
Same for long distance.

It’s going to kill off smaller, shorter events and new comers to the sport. Which in turn will kill off the longer events.

Well done BTF :clap:t3::clap:t3::clap:t3:

On the other hand … BC is £40 for the basic insured package currently. So if you want insurance whilst out riding and are going to enter a triathlon or two, it might be worth joining (£66 for a non-club member, £55 for a club member)

CTC is £50 now, but its another option and covers commuting iirc (BTF no longer does, not sure on BC)

That’s what I’ve gone for this year. I’m hardly riding but want some kind of cover above my home ins.

Did i read correctly that they are now passing £6 of the £12 back to the race organiser?

Oh!!!

That’s why the Outlaw one is £6 then :white_check_mark:

I also thought it was £14 :face_with_peeking_eye:
Not £12 :person_shrugging:t3:

Still, expensive for a sprint!!!

That’s the kind of thing the government would do to deflect the blame and pass it onto the race organiser who’ll just increase their fee!

Why it is not a set fee for the licence and there is all this messing around, i have no idea…

Bit of a tangent but if you thought things were any better in Oz, take a look at these comments
