The original start of this thread led me to the Jabra 65t and I liked them but didn’t love them. I get that they’re robust and everything but mine had a weird fault in one ear that nearly made me question whether I was going deaf and the after sales support wasn’t great.
They probably would be great for Zwift in the house - they’d do the job you’d asked for (if they didn’t develop the fault).
I have switched to AirPods though - got a decent deal on Amazon. And I do like those. But they definitely don’t have the noise cancellation that’s been requested.
Tarah JayBird Elite Sport - Shit. Some proprietary charging port on the volume control. Got jizzed up with sweat and wouldn’t charge after 6 months. Replaced with…
Sony WF-XB700 - Shit. Another wank charging port that now won’t connect. Took them back for a refund today (11 months) no refunds on Sony. Only repairs
I’ve come to the conclusion all headphone are utter shite and will fail.
Look for direct micro-USB connectors to the headset. None of this charging case bollocks.
The ones I have are on deep sale at amazon (two colours available). At this price I’m tempted to get a second pair, just in case I happened to lose my current ones
Worth noting they’re not the fully sweat proof / dust proof version. They’re the elite active 75t. They’re £99.99, which is still the cheapest they’ve ever been per camelcamelcamel.
Having bigged up the 65t’s, mine recently died after about 2.5-3years of abuse, so I picked up the 75t’s at that price last week
Currently a cashback offer on Samsung Galaxy Buds2, Buds Pro and Buds Live:
Buy one set, get £40 cashback on 2’s, £50 for the others.
Buy another set, get £40/£50 cashback each, but also get an extra £50 cashback.
Buy another set, still get £40/£50 each, but now get £100 extra too.
Buy another set, still get £40/£50 each, but now get £150 extra too.
Buy another set, still get £40/£50 each, but now get £200 extra too.
So if you buy 5 pairs of Buds2 at the current going rate of £99 from O2, Amazon retail etc., you get 5 X £40, + 4 X £50 cashback (total £400), which means you will have paid £19 per pair.
CEX currently paying out £60 per pair so if you are not going to give them as presents, sell 4 pairs to end up with 1 free pair and £145 profit. Use a cashback credit card for the original purchase and you will get even more back.
Samsung T&C’s apply and you must buy from a listed authorised dealer, but cashback scheme is directly from Samsung so is legit. https://2021.samsungpromotions.claims/giftsthatgiveback/en-GB/how-it-works
Looking around most places have the Bubs 2 at £139 but then the amazon at £99 is from Samsung. Is that them selling them with the discount already applied?
I have been pulling something similar with Canon/Nikon cashbacks for years, you just need to buy the right thing. (And have a mate in the Camera store who will get you the right, in demand Kit.)
i have had these a couple of months now and in IMAO
These are in my view the most over priced headphones i have bought, even at the price i paid
The sound output is no better than cheap headpones i had over the years the max volume hardly gets you pumped
They are not user freindly touch them by mistake and they either switch off or adjusts the volume etc.
and Finally
I have tried all 3 sizes of cups that come with them to help keep them in my ears ,if i bend head down suddenly they fallout of my ears and thats just sat on the turbo trainer so god knows how long they would last on a treadmill
gone back to my cheap headphones with the sweaty smelly foam covers cost £23
