Headphones

Don’t know about the swim models, but generally I think the quality of the normal ones are ok, fine for voices just some music can be a bit tinny, but it’s essentially background sound anyway.

Not surprised on fit under a hat being an issue. But I can wear all day under helmet with sunglasses and don’t find they dig in, or catch anywhere.

I’ve had 2 pairs of Shokz, they replaced under warranty with minimal hassle. They were willing to replace the second pair too but I couldn’t find the original proof of purchase. That second pair were about 18 months old and well outside the original 2 year warranty but they agreed to replace.
Different models, but both failed at the charging port, although I was wearing ~daily in sweaty conditions so it’s not that bad going. Didn’t have issues with battery fade.

I’ve never personally used bone conduction, but aren’t they known as not an audiophile solution? They’re obviously getting the sounds into your acoustic nerve in a fundamentally different way.

Fit is an interesting topic though. Can’t see how a swim cap impacts seeing as they’re meant to go over it from everything I’ve seen. Yes, they’re always going to be loose around the back of the neck which will create drag I imagine, but that’s the design. You’re not wearing them to set swimming pbs!

I don’t think they have any bass, let alone adjustable.

I imagine them being okay for speech (e.g. podcasts) but not music?

Same as Doka. I use my Jabras all the time when cycling; first time I accidentally triggered the hear through I thought they were broken as the sound was so bad

How do they slot behind your ears with a cap on?
Oh.
They don’t.

And the thing that’s meant to loop round your ears just presses in and aches.

The band being loose is an issue with running.
Bounces around. It’s too small to Velcro to a cap, too, but long enough to be annoying.

If the band was smaller, it wouldn’t bounce whilst running and could be worn under a swim cap.

They’re not sold as “these are fine for murder mystery podcasts, shit for music” though, are they?

They’re sold as headphones.

They offer a version with a smaller band for people with slender necks.

Complaints about fit are generally person specific though. For me they don’t bounce, and I can wear on top of a running hat. So that’s your shite head, rather than the headphones :kissing_heart:

The travel visor is a nice touch for the Mortal Kombat Sub Zero look.

New ones don’t have it.

Price parity with the Apple equivalent.

And these are better.

Better than Bose QC (whatever number they’re up to now… 35?)? They were always the benchmark for high quality noise cancelling over ear headphones IMHO. Admission: I quite like the styling now the oxygen mouth guard has been dropped.

As it happens I have a pair of Bose QC35ii.

Streets ahead in every way.

But they are expensive I grant you.

They’re also shit :joy::joy::joy:

Ears sweat, can’t run in them, hair gets messy. You look like an utter tool wearing them.

What are they for?
Sitting inside and listening to music?
Get a grip and get some speakers, man. :joy::joy::joy:
