enjoyed that
OH SHEEEETTTT!!!
Check the entry list
None other than a certain Olympic medal winning, Aldi shopping, Yorkshireman is in there!!!
now i have proper FOMO! If it was about 6 hours closer i’d go up to watch!
Yep, I was just thinking the same… its starting to sound EPIC!
I’ve got a completely free day on the 6th too, as 'er indoors is off wedding dress shopping with offspring #1… but its a 5hr drive each way and that’s just too much!
Surely not a problem for everyone here, they can leave their box.
I’m on nights! And I’m only an hour? away too.
By the time I get up AB will have had a shower and be half way home …
The tri talkers will be strewn upon the mountain, as long as no one gets injured … that’s all that matters.
It’s just a bloke from Bingley Harriers, bet he can’t swim or cycle well at all
Lucy Hall is racing too
No press release with a full list yet
I reckon there are more names that aren’t on there.
Maiden voyage up the muddy Edge for the Speedcross4.
They work.
Arse, I’ve DNF’d every race I’ve started with him
What what what???
“The PTO has worked with the Helvellyn Triathlon team and has calculated that the difference in the Helvellyn course’s Ideal Time between men and women is 28:03. The race will be structured so that the top women’s wave will set off 28:03 ahead of the top men’s wave, and then professional athletes will be awarded places and prize money based on crossing the finish line, regardless of gender.“
Bloody handicap race - that’s going to be epic if you can watch it!!!
$3,000USD for the first pro to cross the line.
$500USD for 10th…
…age groupers can enter the Pro race, if they’ve a 2019 time with 7% of the “Ideal Pro Time” for that race.
Whatever that means?
Last years bike was long I think due to roadworks, so 2019’s times aren’t get very close to the “Ideal Pro Time”.
Probably going to be a lot of people coming to watch.
AB for me with his fell running experience.
It might be a bit of a shock for a few from their usual races, a muddy field
Yeah, hard to see past AB.
Your club mate should enter the Pro race.
Decent shot of a Top 10 overall and a bit of cash?
Shame not to see @Chriswim leading them out of the water though
AB is a shoe in for first.
Skipper for second, he should catch and pass AB on the bike, but AB will take it back on the run. Mainly due to his fell running experience.
Third place will be interesting.
Lucy Gossage or Hall? Maybe even Tara Grosvenor.
What about Will Clarke?
A very intriguing format.
Oh: 2019 “ideal Pro time” is any race in 2019.
So, If I did a 70.3 in 4.26, Where the ideal pro time was 4.08, therefore I can race as a Pro.
Get it?
AB is light too, that will really help on that run.
PTO will be paying for @Poet’s window cleaning for a good few months.
Lots of love for Skipper but there are young pros on the start list who will be out of the water before him and have won 70.3 races.
Agreed… but I doubt many people would want to give Lucy Gossage a 28 min head start either… that could be lively!
