I went out for 20 minutes this morning after a rear cassette change. Tried to go out in just a trisuit, verdict was I’ll be putting on a jacket tomorrow! :joy:

Yes the forecast is great, likely some showers through the morning but hopefully just mild. Wouldn’t have been that big a shock to have proper rain and wind in the Lakes in September. Having only ridden the TT bike twice now I’ll be super cautious, not enjoying coming down hill on it.

Yes. Can’t decide on a perfetto or long sleeve jersey. I suppose a bonus that we’ll be starting later and miss the rain.

Currently in Ambleside driving the course and it’s pissing it down. Wouldn’t be nice on a bike

Oh and that transition field will be fun tomorrow

Dicks. Stop telling me how crap the field is going to be!

What I called my Gabba, is actually that Perfetto I wore for Outlaw @Adam, so perfect there.
It’s skin tight and not flappy, so bonus seconds!

I’ve gone with my PX82/101 landsail combo, seeing as the wind isn’t high at all.
Although the braking surface is better on the Zipps, I think (hope!) the descent will be dry!

Okay, so, reading the briefing notes for the millionth time:

“ If you don’t have someone with you that you can leave clothing with my suggestion is that you bring some clothing that you are not going to be too upset about should it go missing and place it in a bin bag or similar, then leave it somewhere where you think you will be able to find it after the race. Perhaps put an identifying mark on the bag, sticker or ribbon. A good place to store them could be in the trees along the roadside behind the registration marquee. Socially distanced naturally.”

Are these the trees in the photo above?
Just to the right, as they look fine.
They’ll be safer there than under my car, right?
I’m coming in my painting clothes, as I don’t mind them going missing :see_no_evil:

“ Absolutely no boxes anywhere in transition. Bring only what you need for the race and can be kept at your racking point in a soft bag. Bag for life or similar is ideal.”
So, in theory…I could fold up my Outlaw bag and leave it in transition?
Happy to schlep it back to the car, but that’s not ideal!!!

TT with disc back wheel :grinning: for me

Didn’t check my wetsuit or goggles and when I asked about a map she looked at me as if I’d had a dump in her mouth. It rained, came home.

I just grabbed my numbers, t-shirt & ran. Does the sticky number go on the bike, nothing on the helmet?

@Adam do you need a map? I’ve got ot a couple of spares.

@Poet I’m guessing those are the trees they mean. I’m sure a plastic bag of stuff left there will be reasonably safe.

If you have a spare @Doonhamer that would be great. I suppose I should have one. I’ll seek you out in the morning!

Yeah I think I’ve got the same jersey as you @Poet but I’d think I’d like something on my arms. Just worried about not warming up. A5091 from ullswater should sort that though.
Trihard posted a vid of transition and used an ikea bag so I’d say your backpack will be fine. I might used mine actually.

I’m nearly ready, I’ve dug out my Rapha pro team softshell gabba type jacket, hopefully it will be enough.

I’ll be crawling down the descents though if it’s wet, I’m going to stick with the Propel.

The race is neutralised until the run section isn’t it

No an old Felt B16

I have have no long sleeve cycle jacket so going to wear a SS jersey and bought some gloves just in case :grimacing:

I was hoping to clean down my bike but family chaos took over.

Good luck every one!

Hmm. Was definitely relying on that. They’ve made it very clear they’re providing them though

Look me up guys I’ve got some spares, but @Adam is first.
