I’ve got a Medium Blueseventy Helix from 2013 that’s barely used if you’d be interested? I’m open to offers on it. I bought it when I was quite a bit lighter than I am now (about 72kg, I’m now about 89/90) and used it I would guess less than 10 times. Fast suit mind, SUPER flexible in the arms, and buoyant where it needed to be; I was a bit scared of how thin the neoprene in the arms is - I was always careful to cut my nails before putting it on
It’s been in its box on top of my wardrobe for 7 years, so I’ll need to dig it out and see what condition it’s in if you’d be interested,
I have a FOOR ‘something’ now but had a sleeveless IM branded suit for about 12 years before that.
I bought my FOOR at Tri UK in Yeovil, used their endless pool to try a few. They had a guy there that was a OWS specialist, he did my fitting. Top bloke and it was a good experience and the suit has been great.
I’m not sure leg buoyancy came into it, although I’m sure I probably drag my legs a bit. It just seemed to fit better than the others and I was looking to keep it under £300. IIRC, it was £260. Tried an Orca and another FOOR but this one just felt better to me and the fitter said it was the best of the three for me. (it wasn’t the dearest either).
I’m not the best judge of shoulder mobility in a suit because I have limited ROM in my shoulder anyway (been that way for 11 yrs, since a huge crash in Oz).
I don’t think the suit excels at any one thing but for a MOP swimmer like me, it seems to all things ok. It flexes enough for me, seems to cope with a. rage of temps, is easy to get on and off and isn’t overly fragile and it doesn’t rub my neck at all.
I have cut the legs a bit shorted and trimmed the left hand cuff not to foul my watch.
No bad crash though… too many heavy weights when I was young and daft .
I’ve tried a few …! Keep coming back to this one … the leg lift is too high for fast swimmers, I love the fact that you can’t actually kick your legs in it…!
Local guy got one made by snug ?
Won’t stop going on about it now … he’s very impressed
This is only what I heard. Apparently the person that started FOOR used to be either a dealer or distributor for Orca and they had some falling over the commercials. I think Orca said if he didn’t order X amount, then they wouldn’t supply him.
So he started his brand and decided decided the name should be an acronym for how he felt: F-O-OR… I’ll let you work it out
Just coming back to this, has anyone anymore feedback on Yonda wetsuits? I bought my newest wetsuit in 2012 - an Xterra Vector Pro - & especially after last years swimming it’s seen better days.
Really like it. It’s a ST so pretty bloody tight getting on, this does take a bit of time. Once on though no complaints. Good arm/shoulder movement and pretty comfortable.
I only have a cheap Orca to compare against but for a mid price suit, that I got on the cheap I’m pretty pleased
+2 for Zone3, I trialled one of their suits a decade ago as they were starting up, I was impressed…but managed to snag a B70 Helix barely used for cheap.
I’d not buy Huub again based on my wetsuit and Tri suit.
