Ideas for the future of Ironman

Is that the arrogant RD that was so tone deaf that he only was on ‘send’ with his messages?
Didn’t bother engaging at all with anyone, even when asked about his own bloody race. Just constant useless post after post of how many people registered.

He was fucking twat.

I didn’t think so.

He was speaking a 2nd language & happy to answer questions about his event. I couldn’t have cared less if he got involved in a clinchers/tubs debate.

What about tubeless :man_shrugging: a whole new level of evilness!

Disagree. He was asked several question about his own event, completely blanked people and just kept posting rego update after rego update, people asked him for answers and just got ignored. Not at all sure he didn’t just do that on French forums?
If you want customers, engage. Hardly rocket science is it.

Who’s laughing now - he’s sold the rights of his race to Ironman. Job done. Think he did ok promoting his race.

This classic memory from 2015 showed up today. The classic IMUK “Anything is IMpossible” bag

A throw back to better times

Same on my Maastricht Ironman bag from that year, currently on the windowsill behind me, felt better quality in those days.

I’m sure I saw someone mention the flex90 payment plan recently?

Anyway, looks like they’ve fobbed it off to Klarna now, I got a priority entry to V-G and looked where it said payment options by Klarna.

I’ve had a few things interest free off klarna. Very good.

Some joke swim splits at Oregon 70.3 today, not sure if it got shortened but it is billed as the fastest (easiest) swim in triathlon. No pro’s as such but fastest swim was 16:xx which is 49s/100m :joy: and a lot of sub 20’s

Almost makes California and Louisville look slow.

No wonder it fills up so quickly.

Is that the one that’s like a lazy river in a leisure pool and you can just float down on your back in 45minutes?

There’s a few in the US so can avoid swimming and float and just avoid the cutoff.

I think that was IM Chattanooga.

Yes, was talking to someone about Chattanooga the other day. He reckoned it’s swimming the equivalent of 2km for the 3.8km

sounds good to me…

Pretty poor planning by Ironman this weekend, 3 full distance races in Europe, Frankfurt, Copenhagen, Kalmar. I know Frankfurt changed because of the football and maybe that was all they got offered or no race?

Although I think there’s very few people that do more than 1 per season these days?

They also sent an email today announcing the 2025 race calendar, then half the dates are still TBD!
