Too much competition with Copenhagen and Kalmar the week before? Guess these events are all sort of targeting the same pool of people. Their Facebook said over 1000 started, so that seems quite a big DNF rate - late switch to the sea freaking some people out maybe?

Maybe the change of swim, unless the app is showing incorrect numbers, a 30% dropout seems very high.
I doubt many people do 2 per season these days due to cost and clearly Copenhagen is the popular one at the moment.
Apparently Kalmar is a nightmare for accommodation.

Apparently Challenge Sandjeford got cancelled while athletes were on the pontoon yesterday.
Local nimbies had taken down a lot of road closure signs and barriers and were on the bike course so the police told them to cancel because of safety.
