Even Weymouth has sold out in 2 days and I bet final entries would be around £450?
Clearly there’s still interest but lack of smaller races drives people to them, and the social kudos

Googled it and found “time spent in prison or high-level participation in gang conflict”. 
To be fair, this appears to link to an article about face and scalp tattoos in Honduras rather than typical IM calf artwork

Actually what tends to happen with a cancelled event, is there a set outcome, I guess not?
I guess they’ll give you a set of options, defer, change of race, money back?

My plan was GFA London, two year plan.

I think they’ll offer Oman and possibly a race or 2 further afield if there’s any in America, Oz or NZ for people that travelled
Can’t see how this can be rearranged now and I doubt they’ll offer Cascais, there’s not many with spaces next year except unpopular events like Leeds, Tallinn and Thun.
The majority will probably get a cash refund or back here next year.

Talking to so someone at the bar (not like me Mr Unsocial 
) but I’d had two pints… straight to my head.
Anyway they said they think Oman will be offered, said that to the wife and she said… well.. I cant repeat.
Cant afford any more travel this year and this was in lieu of our summer holiday for 2026, I would be in the dog house but she knows its shit all around.
Lovely camaraderie at the bar, so many young first timers gutted, many having their first beer in 6-9 months ( one asleep at the bar already… ) 7pm.

I’m sure Oman will be an option as they’re trying to prop it up, don’t think a lot of people are keen to travel there. That said I know someone who is going and think he said accommodation is cheap

Waco 70.3 swim cancelled as well.
IMPORTANT RACE UPDATE:
Following continued monitoring and assessment of conditions in the Brazos River, we have
made the decision to cancel the swim portion of Sunday’s IRONMAN 70.3 Waco triathlon.
Recent rainfall has led to water-quality concerns, increased debris, and unsafe river
conditions that prevent us from safely conducting and supporting the swim.
The race will now begin with a bike time-trial start from transition by sequential bib number
beginning at 7:30 a.m. Transition will open at 6:00 a.m. and we request that athletes be
ready standing by their bike at their rack by 7:15 a.m. Athletes will have 4 hours and 20
minutes to complete the bike portion of the race and 7 hours and 20 minutes to complete
the bike, T2 and run. All IRONMAN 70.3 World Championship slots will still be awarded
based on each athletes’ time over the bike and run event. Age Group Ranking points will
also still be awarded.
Additional information will be communicated through the IRONMAN Tracker App, onsite
announcements, and official event channels.

My idea is life time ban for Jeff from IM events, im sure it has been suggested before.
In other news, “sleep 8” had a tent at the expo, not sure I am going to sleep well, might wake from one nightmare into another. All I can hear atm is the waves crashing on the beach, and the storm has taken the TV service out.
It is weird sat here with the bike in the room and thinking about all the effort to get here, it is not all for nothing though, it is an opportunity to reflect and do better in the build up to next time.
