As always happens race week! I was walking down the stairs carrying the washing basket, which wasn’t that heavy and halfway down had such a sharp pain in my right knee I had to stop.
It subsided after 10-15 seconds but it’s lingering when I put more than walking pressure through my foot.
you could always try the ribbon trick - slide some ribbon under the ring and wind the ring around it while pulling on the ribbon - the ring will often wind off this way.
I’ve had quite a few and it doesn’t really bother me, the chest one this year was over an hour, biggest problem was my arse going numb and not being able to wriggle about
I can see how it would be hard for some people though in the same way I hate sheer drops
My shoulder was clamped in but that had to be in the centre so then they had to wedge the other side of my up so I was contorted and squashed in. Im sure there is a reason they are that small, and Im not the biggest chap but it was fooking uncofmrtable
I’ve had a number of MRI’s - never really bothered me.
BUT if you want discomfort have head and neck radiotherapy. You get clamped into a specially moulded to fit mask that doesn’t allow any movement and then have to lie there for the duration of the treatment which can be up to 30mins at a time. 5 days a week for 6 weeks.
X-ray on the leg today. More just for peace of mind that it is healing as it should and no other issue. NHS Scotland surprisingly efficient, got referred to walk in clinic by GP on Monday (although I had to wait a fortnight for that phone appointment), turned up today and seen in 15 minutes.
I had the 5-week follow-up on my shoulder op yesterday.
The X-ray showed that there’s more bone there than there was 3 weeks ago, but it’s still got some way to go to fully heal. The sling has to stay on 24/7 for another week and then after that just outside the house for another 4 weeks, when I’m booked in for a CT scan.
I think the surgeon was pleasantly surprised to see that I’ve got full range of motion back and reckoned there wasn’t going to be much requirement for physio.
Good news @Whisk .Although you might need need physio to regain full ROM some gentle strength work would likely be a good idea because of the muslcular atrophy from wearing tht sling all this time. Glad to hear it is on the mend.
many problems with bad rotator cuff injuries is that once you fuck the RC, it will always remain somewhat fucked. might not be noticeable when swimming or many other activities, but mine gives me gyp when pushing weights, even if not too heavy - it’s just weak and can’t take the load.
