Injury List- do any parts of you still work?

Ah good to know thanks. A mate suggested that Nuffield might do one with self referral.

A colleague’s wife has just one done, it was £350 for the scan but they needed a £250 consultation first and another £250 post scan appt to find out the results.

That’s how they get ya’!

Just booked the Mrs a skydive as her birthday present. I’ll be on the plane and might need to kick her out the plane myself.

So I might be joining this thread soon, if I survive forcing the experience on her :japanese_ogre:

Groin strain. No idea when but was sore 2 days ago after a low cadence grind on the gym bike. Felt it twinge on the treadmill today.

Managed to get in to see the physio tomorrow afternoon…

yeah I get that.
It’s not like I just jumped into that session, I’ve been doing that for months, but it is a hard session and it’s highly likely that’s what’s happened.
Physio was happy there’s no tear, and as is usual highlighted some poor mobility which could have contributed to it.

Hows he so sure its not a tear? Might not be muscle but could tendon? I’m only asking as I’m many months into a long lingering groin issue. I’m going for a scan on it tomorrow to get a definitive answer.

First day I’m feeling better in nearly 2 weeks. Went into work, drove there, got out the car and my entire back just seized up. So painful now!

I’m guessing she was simply going by the level of pain when applying pressure or stretching.
Time will tell I suppose. :+1:

Groin update. Saw the doctor. Private hospital health care is the way to go for these things I tell ya! Reckons its tendinopathy in one of the three adductor muscle tendons. Either inflamed or torn. If its inflamed it can be cortisone injected and should fix it fairly quickly which is the most likely. Tear, less likely and can’t be injected and will just need loads more rehab. MRE scan next week sometime to determine which.

Tendons need load to repair effectively so make sure whether it is a tear or inflamed you get a rehab programme.

Not so much an injury but I’m fairly sure I’ve got a couple of chilblains on my right hand, index and next finger, one is right on the knuckle and pretty sore.

The cold, damp garage probably hasn’t helped. Hopefully they’ll go soon as it has warmed up a bit, although one has been there about a week or so.

Grrr, bloody cold weather

Ok, you may want to look away if at all squeamish. This one is below the ankle. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.

Injury

black little toenail from running in too-tight shoes.

(the big toenail is a bit black too but it’s just dirty)

your welcome

I had the same for the second toe on each foot from fell running, the left still isn’t right nearly a year later!

Although I might have damaged it a couple of times

@fruit_thief, you’re a weapon.

Hidden drop or not, there’s no need.

Didn’t dare share my trotter shots after Namibia - would have got me a life ban from TT

Feel absolutely rough as guts today, migraine and aches all over. Hopefully will improve as the day goes on.

not quite injury, but I’m at Solihull Hospital tomorrow to have some surgery on my face to get rid off some small basal cell carcinomas (caused by sun damage). Having to go to Solihull as that’s one if the few places “close” to me that does Mohs microsurgery (google it for details). Got a call on Monday as someone had cancelled so snapped it up rather than wait months more.

All day job cos of the procedure.

I have a really sore neck and shoulders today, maybe from the turbo?

I’m housebound anyway until the Dr rings from my request yesterday.
