Injury List- do any parts of you still work?

Problem calf is, how can I describe it…

… inflamed?

Certainly no tear (well, I don’t think there’s a tear), but it feel a bit off.

Anyone else had this?

Yes sometimes, feels like it’s tight and expanded like a balloon. Have usually found that running aggravates but cycling is fine.

Thanks FP. Cycled at lunch, couldn’t feel a thing.

Will try a gentle 10 minute run in the morning and see what’s what.

Doesn’t help I meant to have a 5 mile race on Sunday….

Mine do get sore and tight but if I massage and stretch it early enough for a couple of days I can usually head it off.

Circuit training tonight, good mornings on last circuit feel a twinge in lower back.
Stopped straight away but now got pain on right hand side just above backside and can’t bend or twist.
Hot water bottle on it and hoping it’s nothing serious, so see what the morning brings.

Did a long (for me) ride yesterday. Totalled about 80km, and my rides lately have been about 40.

My right knee today just feels wrong. My quads at the bottom around the knee are really sore.

The concern is there’s a point where it feels a bit like the knee gets stuck.

I’m more than a little concerned it might be something long term problematic.

I have the same. The tear drop shaped part of the quad on the inside feels odd and some times if I bend my knee and straighten it it feels like its stuck and then clicks

Knee getting “stuck” and clicking is a possible meniscus tear isn’t it?

Yeah, that’s what I was thinking. I’ve wondered if that’s been the case for a while, maybe this just aggravated it? Will see if it settles down over the next few days.
Wonder if it’s worth finding a physio.

Physio will give you an idea but a scan is the only way you’ll know for definite as far as I’m aware.

Can you go into the MRI machine feet first? I had one for my shoulder snd it was fucking horrible.

I barely fit in the machine.

To be honest mine isnt that bad and only clicks occasionally.

Yes. MRI on my Achilles and I don’t think I even went in as far as my waist.

Excellent. If it gets any worse ill have to put another Axa claim in. They will chuffed after seeing how much my shoulder has cost then.

I was in for well over an hour last year, but I am probably quite a lot smaller, aren’t you about 6’5?

I can see why people don’t like it, for me it’s more the being still, my arse was numb :joy:

6’5", broad, 100+kgs. Not what the designers of the machines were thinking of as a user.

The shoulder was worse because the wanted the shoulder in the middle so I was clamped in off centre. They actually siad they were surprised they got my in. Yeah I fitted but it was uncomfortable as fuck. Plus I couldnt get my wedding ring off but thankfully its pure platinum and not magentic.

Yeah absolutely. I had an MRI on my knee. Was only in the machine to my chest. :+1:

Hmmmm… been out for a walk and my knee has an intermittent click depending a bit on the direction my foot is pointing. Doesn’t bode well i suspect.

Just in case they don’t warn you, when getting an MRI, don’t leave a loaded gun in your pocket.

I have to take rings off, they’re obsessed about asking about metal in your body… Clearly a murder made to look like a “freak accident”, where’s Colombo when you need him.

I’m not getting old. But I went for a walk the other day with my shoe lace too tight and now my foot really hurts.
