Well, as if my tight calf wasn’t bad enough, I’ve managed to really screw my back up somehow (which doesn’t take much these days). I’m walking with that horrible 45 deg lean you get when it’s bad.

Don’t know how I’ve done it but I do remember hitting a ‘kidney puncher’ pothole on the moto earlier. :man_shrugging:

Bah humbug :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Thx for your very kind words and thoughts all, it’s really appreciated  ops went very well, no plastic surgery required. Weight on it asap and the answer to the big question that both myself and all of you, my friends would ask first thing… possibly 2 weeks once would has healed. I’m going to see if I can get that down to 1 to 1.5 weeks with the power of positive thinking and with a super healthy diet.

Looks much worse than it was thankfully.

It’s the amount of claret that makes it look horrific!

Bloody hell they’ll be sore for while I’m sure.

Great to hear it’s looking like a couple of weeks

Glad things are looking better than feared Clive. Heal strong my man.

@Clive, that looks brutal.

Is it weird I’d rather look at that than @fruit_thief’s orrible’ feet?

Just seen doctor.

Apparently it was an easy job and hardly and muscle affected… phew.

He thinks that doing the half tri x in about 8 weeks will be ok. Have to come back for review in 10 days.

Can walk and go out but must keep dressing dry and clean (so that’s not out in Scotland until the next dry spell then  ).

Can use Wattbike as is indoors yay :+1:

Doing lots of foot movement reps, just started balancing on that leg and loads of positive thinking.

I know that I’ll come out of all this probably far stronger mentally and physically than when I went into a&e fri eve which is quite surreal.

Great excuse not to go swimming.

Back to exercise today after my cortisone injection into my iliopsoas tendon. Sadly I am fairly sure I don’t think its done anything at all to sort the problem. If I resistance band up that leg with one end tied to something solid directly behind me and loop it round my ankle and try to drive my leg directly in front of me (as if I was toe punting a football) its not happy under load at all. If I swap legs same issue as its now trying to stablise the leg I’m stood on. Urgh.

I am almost back to being 100%. Obviously I need some dentistry doing and will hopefully find out what and when later this week. Face is a bit scabby, nose a bit tender and teeth still a bit tender and some movements feel a bit sore for the left shoulder but on the whole I am alright. Did a short easy run and short easy ride on the trainer over the weekend.

I will hopefully be able to run and ride a bit this week. Once the scabs on my face have gone I will see how the shoulder does in the pool.

Only just catching up with this as didn’t go on phone/computer much over weekend.
Funnily enough I did see a few notifications of you liking some fairly old posts and thought, somebody must have some time on their hands, scrolling through old discussions.
I’ve seen your later posts and that it wasn’t as bad as you thought and should heal quickly so all the best with your recovery, both mentally and physically I guess.

Just been beaten up by a lady for an hour, and i paid her to do it!

Much needed trip to the physio. Hopefully sorted out the back issues i had from the allotmenting, but also the accumulative stuff that always builds up. Dominant right side, weak left side always ends up with crazy tight, inactive muscles etc.

So lots if release work, very targeted massage gun and the clicky ‘activation’ thing (if you know, you know). I can now stand up straight and not twisted. But i do feel a bit battered.

Same old, same old. But i really need to do the activation work, stretching and strength stuff if i’m going to survive this IM block intact!

Activation sounds like mumbo jumbo to me. Stengthening is what is needed!!!

Need to get down the gym ol’ boy! :joy:

As @pacha says. Activation is just something you do before the exercise that needs it.

I’m no physio. The one I use has always been very good, so I’ve no reason to doubt her. But I’m not an expert in this field.

Either way, I’ll probably ignore it after A few weeks! :joy: :joy:

Wash your mouth out!

:joy:

(it would probably benefit me in all seriousness, but I struggle to fit my current on/off programme of exercise in as it is!)
