Injury List- do any parts of you still work?

Mrs T tested positive for COVID this evening- thought it was just a light cold but apparently not.

Didn’t stop her running 12km with 420m of vert with me this morning

Fingers crossed she keeps it to herself and no adverse issues (she is on immunity suppressant medication for Crohns)

On no FP, so you didn’t have covid last week but you got it this week? Your immune sytem is really taking a bashing at the moment. Hope you don’t get it too bad and you feel better soon :crossed_fingers:

Also @tunster hope Mrs T doesn’t get it too bad and feels better soon

Thanks Anna. Yes, that was weird how I felt so bad last weekend but was negative. I’ve had an absolutely torrid night with shaking, migraine and throwing up and completely bathed in sweat. Going to need a couple of days off work at the very worst time.
Temp is 37.9 this morning

Oh my, that sounds awful FP. There is never a good time to be ill and your health is really important to you and your family. You really should take the rest of the week off work. I don’t know why some people get long covid or not, but I do know you need to prioritise your health the next few weeks.
The couple of times I had covid, I had the initial intense stage for a few days, but generally needed several weeks until my energy returned to normal. My lungs, which is my weak spot, took a few months to build up again.

This is what I’ve read Anna. I have ACC a week on Friday for 3 days, which is 42, 42, 44km. There is an option the walk, rather than run but I really can’t see it happening right now. I feel so rough.

There’s definitely been an uptick in Covid cases recently. We’ve got a few people off work with it at the moment

I think testing positive and actually suffering from it must be two different things because I can’t get up the stairs without help right now.

That’s grim

Have you booked in to see a Dr? Appreciate will probably be a week before you can get in but worth a check over?

I haven’t but that’s the next step I think. Takes bloody ages though. I cant believe how quickly it happened. Ran a 22.37 parkrun in the morning, built that workbench in the afternoon and could barely support myself yesterday morning.

It’s like a truck has hit you!

I’m absolutely broken today :joy:, hard to tell the difference between niggles, injuries and general soreness. Need to see how things settle down.

Hope you’re alright soon FP

When I got it last year I was feeling a bit off on the Monday morning starting work. By lunchtime I’d ‘collapsed’ onto the floor from my desk as didn’t have a ounce of energy to get downstairs and just fell asleep there feeling absolutely vile. So I know what you mean in terms of how it hits you.

On the plus side though, I had about 36 hrs of real crap and the picked up very quickly afterwards. I was negative by the Thurs and raced on the Sunday. (albeit I lost at least 10% from my original power plan)

Conclusive proof if it was even required that DIY is bad for you

I’m in bed now. I absolutely hate being bed in the day, I don’t really do lie ins either.
It’s not very restful though because we have all the roadworks going on outside but the body is being rested at least. I just wish I could stop my legs from shaking, it’s killing my hips and that rib pain is back with a vengeance.
I’m just waiting for the ‘I told you all that running stuff is not healthy’ message from my sister.

Now that bit, I do agree with

Not really any batter. Temp has come down slightly but another night of incessant shaking and being sick. Every aches like all get out any skin feels cold but my head is on fire. About 90 mins sleep last night, hopefully the lulling sounds of roadworks will drift me off today!

I’ve found a 4hr clip of Japanese Zen music on YT.

I like your thinking. If that doesn’t make you want to hurry up and get better, nothing will
