That was remarkable
I think the article I saw said the marathon swims as you say could be held in the rowing lake… but the triathlon would become a duathlon. So no real change for ‘our’ sport.
The only bit of the Olympics I’ll make sure I watch will be in Tahiti.
Apparently the mayor of Paris is going for a swim in the river today to show that the water is clean enough for the games
And there has apparently been an online campaign to encourage people to shit in the Seine!
Just for info the Discovery+ promo (mentioned elsewhere on the forum) where it’s £3.99 a month till the end of the year is now available. Grab it now if you want to watch the Eurosport TDF coverage over the last few days.
Can existing customers get the discounted price?
That’s a very good question - which I don’t know the answer to - although I suspect it’s to draw new customers in so probably not. If you’re paying monthly direct to them then maybe you just end your subscription and start a new one - or use a different email address or something - but I suspect if you’re already paying 6.99 a month then it won’t go to 3.99 for the rest of the year.
Nice one. Just signed up. Wonder if I have an app on my LG TV to connect into it?
Single reason was I’m off work at home, unwell. ITV4 coverage of the tour doesn’t start until 2pm.
There is one.
Controversial…
Compared to the Japanese who sent a gymnast home when she got caught smoking
Would an Australian with a rape conviction get a visa to enter France?
ah…the benefits of the EU…
I think the Olympic bid rules say you won’t refuse visa’s for accredited athletes during the games.
Certainly easy enough to get in next door and start your own business!
Just had a look at the BBC forecast for Paris over the next week. Doesn’t look like much rain at all and it’s looking good for the triathlons next week (Tuesday/Wednesday). Hopefully the good weather will help ensure that the water quality is good enough.
hope it stays that way for the Mixed Relay on 5th August
