Ironbourne 2020 - sometime in July

The early bird slots have gone now too. It’s popular. :eyes:

I saw it advertised as probably the quickest long distance in the UK…or something like that anyway.

Yeah plumb the course into BBS and it gives a very fast bike split. Run is mostly flat except a little hill 4 times. Swim can be tricky but I bet they’ve timed it well to the tides. Weather shouldn’t be a factor. There is always the outside chance of a heatwave or conversely a storm but that is unlikely. The last few KM of the bike is exposed, but the rest not. Road surface is not ideal, but also not terrible.

I think anyone setting up an iron distance on their own in the UK deserves some respect. Especially going against the might of mDot.

I should be doing this …!
Instead of the fastest full distance course I’m doing the slowest outside of tri x and the other extremes.

Hope it goes well for all concerned

I was having a year off of long distance next year…this has got me thinking. Mind you, so has IM Italy.

Interesting that they say 950M of elevation compared to the 1370 odd mentioned above. That’s some difference.

I asked them about that and if I can have their GPX but no response. Its quite a difference.
