I see on Twitter that Adam Hansen has arrived on the island to find the airline have snapped his gear hanger in transit……
Poor bike packing that
Forgot to remove the rear derailleur for transit?
looks like it….
All the best!
Just racked the bike and left red and blue bags. No access to bags tomorrow, so what’s done is done.
Saddest sound as I walked through transition, someone’s tyre let go with a big bang… hope they check bike in time to repair. Remeber, don’t pump tires to 9 bar and the leave them racked in the sun for 3 hours
Happens at every event! They used to go on about it at the briefing…guess not every is listening!
Time to shine!
Sometimes T1 sounds like Guy Fawkes night with all the NumpT’s saving a job for tomorrow by fully inflating their tyres……
Aha!!!
I knew I wasn’t going mental.
We’ve got access to our bike bags, which surprised me.
All the best dude
Lanza usually allow access to the bags on the morning. Maybe it’s a covid thing to try to limit the number of people around them before the start? They didn’t used to specify time slots for racking either, so you could just turn up and join the queue into transition whenever you wanted.
It’s all been incredibly well organised so far
Swim Lanzarote guy is on Facebook giving some tips for the swim if you’re interested…don’t cut the first yellow square buoy too tight
Edit: I’ve come to realise I really want to do this event again
The old mass start at Lanza was a proper punch up to that first corner. I went wide……very wide.
Thanks, is it on the IM Lanza FB page,?
Good luck @Matthew_Spooner
Hope you get some shut eye
so what happens with tubeless, does it blow the tire off the rim, or blow the rim apart?
The mass starts were something to behold….
I’m glad I raced IM during that era, and got to experience it, but its not something i’d relish going back to either. Nice and Lanza in particular were both brutal!
One of my favourite IM race clips but than swim looks ‘busy’!
I just missed that era, shame, I would love to have experienced it. From a TV PoV its is spectacular.
