Apparently Katrina Matthews 2:49 marathon makes here the third fastest IM marathon runner ever, behind only Chrissie and Mirinda Carfrae. Also she served a 5 minute penalty and eventually finished 5:01 behind Ryf. Would have been interesting to see Ryf under pressure as people say she was blowing up a bit towards the end

Hard to tell with Ryf, she had a spare gear in hand last time she saw someone catching her. But great from Matthews
And the boys (well, Jon) at IMTalk have spoke to her this week and also done some Strava stalking where the GPS run course only looks to be 100m short 
So that’s incredible.

I reckon they’re all coiled up and ready to pop!
No racing for over a year and proper rest and recovery and they are firing on all cylinders for the first time ever.
