Ironman UK 2019

Saw you…!
Unless there was someone else with a lady and hounds on the RHS by the second turn from the top…!?
Thanks for supporting it really helps … especially on the 2 nd lap…!

You must have me confused with someone else.

Konas calling…

I spotted you tunster. Cheers, every bit of support helps.

I know it is cool to slate Bolton but in terms of support and scenery you aren’t going to get much better anywhere else on the bike. Or support on the run.

If the road surfaces weren’t so poor it would be a decent race.
The weather hasn’t been bad in the last 6 years apart from a late downpour one year but most of you would have finished by then anyway

Maybe I’m biased with all the people I know on the route and all the personal support I get?
After all the pissing and moaning I’ve done I might actually do it again next year if it doesn’t sell out (late entry based on fitness). That’s how much fun I had!

Hahaha oops! No idea which race I’ve mixed it up with as the bike isn’t 100% flat either looking now.

Vichy definitely isn’t a sea swim. The weired river (not weird) smelled and tasted like sulphur to me. Usually non-wetsuit.

Is it frequently non-wetsuit? Wonder if that’s why I’ve thought might suit me but I’ve probably just been daft.

50% chance of NWS I think. Old bike course was pretty flat, but the course was changed last year, think that it is still reasonably flat. Run is excellent, but can be hot

Are you posting from the 1990s?

Sometimes yes…?!
Great days and better music …

Cut and what…
Nope not for me…
Seriously…

Lack of pro field at IMUK this year and how good Foggy is on the bike has made me realise IM has a potential conundrum with amateur races.

The rolling swim start format has created a situation where someone could cross an IM finish line first and not win overall if someone else started 10-15 minutes behind them.

Very interesting. It was quite funny at this years Outlaw with the wave start of the marathon. I remember seeing the lead woman on many occasions with the leaders mountain bike just ahead of her. She didn’t actually win but was first to break the tape!

Siskas swam 48?
Foggy went from 31 st? To having a 16 min lead off the bike I think,…?

You would need to be some swim runner to hold him off, this race will surely be won and lost on two wheels, unless the profile changes … again…

The military wave went off first but the fishes were ready on the ramp behind them.

Fast swim runners 56-58.swim. 3:15 3:25 Mara were hitting the top ten overall with very close to 6 hour bikes.

2019 was very bike biased.

Yeah so I’m not saying specific to IMUK this year, but different circumstances could mean someone sets off behind but only bikes a few minutes faster, not enough to take lead on road
