Yeah least you know where you stand with a mass start
No reason why they couldn’t have a ‘fast wave’ of 100-200 of the fastest AGers. You just apply with your best IM finish time in the last 3 years. Frankfurt & Austria did this a few years ago (400 AGers) before they introduced rolling starts across the board. I was in the ‘fast wave’ for Austria '13 & Frankfurt '15.
Yes I’ve seen that at other triathlons. I believe Windsor this year had a sub 2:30 wave. Although anyone could enter that.
Back in the day loads of them did this. You had Pro, Elite, then AG.
I think was it Outlaw did this? Someone in my club who is a very good swimmer was in an Elite wave and went off first.
Yes.
Outlaw Half definitely do this.
Prove a sub 4:30 half time for the elite wave.
But then you’re not eligible for AG prizes…
…plus the benefit of slingshot is then out of the window.
The full is a mass start.
Huge difference this year…
It was 112 miles for a start, Joe Skip must have got really fast … I never saw him all day …!
That’s seriously slack
Why is the magazine obscured by a huge onion ring?
It’s actually a huge tentacle of the Octopus in Escape from Atlantis.
Did you mean to post in the bitten by a fish thread

It gave me that train of thought!
I gave away the last year’s worth of 220 I had under my subscription to a lad from the Tri club. I joked that if he diarised them every month he would never need to buy one again. Don’t think I was far from the truth.
Does that mean you are finally a real triathlete?
I would never claim that!
Your tattoos say otherwise!

Mine was a well meaning Christmas present. Been asked if I wanted a 2nd year but I’m about to become a real triathlete soon.
I’ve never had a subscription to any tri mag but I might get a tattoo and have done more than one IM.
Is there a pigeon hole for me?
Only 70 tier 2 slots left for 2020 apparently, there was probably only 100 anyway
