I remember getting a copy of 220 as a stocking filler the Xmas after my first tri - remember reading about the Winter Ballbuster over breakfast and it all seemed very adventurous Actually the race coverage and photos of UK events were one of the best aspects of it IIRC.

Onto tier 3 now, better start entering soon 
Even less rush now, tier 3 always seems to have far more spots than tier 2. Only thing to rush for would be if get cheaper deferral/withdrawal if entered before certain date.
I think the deferral option and split payments end in October so a while yet.
Although the deferral is still only up to 45 days before the race, last year entries were still being taken about a week before, although you’d need to get accommodation as well which will be expensive at that point.

Yeah, I reckon around 50% of the slots must be Tier 3. So just taking a wild guess based on 2500…
1 - 250
2 - 500
3 -1250
4 - 500
So true! When I was weighing up the cost of Vitoria or IMUK, you could get Bolton accommodation for peanuts!

So I just read on a Facebook thread (slow day at work) that roughly 130 people went under 6 hours at Tenby this weekend. Now apparently only 18 went under 6 at Bolton.
No idea if that’s accurate or not

Overall with a choppy swim and hilly run there’s probably not a lot in it overall.

Not done Wales but consensus seems that Bolton is a tougher/slower bike. As said swim/run tougher Wales plus long T1 so overall times might not be any different.

I want to enter Wales, but it’s so long after the “season” is over…I don’t think I can focus throughout August.

What is the relevance of Rammy being nice? The race doesn’t touch it.
Doesn’t that depend on when you start your ‘season’? For me it is situated really well as a summer season end.
