It does, I think I speak fo most of us when I say it feels like it’s our fault when it all goes tits up, but there is simply several elements out of our control. We can prep and do a certain amount to mitigate the risk but, ultimately, we just need to have the day go well enough for us to finish.

There’s people out there who weren’t expecting a nine hour bike or a twenty minute T2, but that’s what’s happening.

Well done to @SidSnot just saw his finish notification, stellar effort :raised_hands:

Pfft, I did Lanza with my rear tyre rubbing the frame the whole way.

Wait, I’m not sure that’s a brag…:flushed:

Outstanding by all the people who put themselves on the start line, some days the stars align and things go to plan and some days they don’t. Either way have a beer and go again another day!

I put three random people into my tracker from IMJ…looks like two have just DNFd. Only one on the run course and pace trajectory is not promising. Oh god I remember the suffering now.

Jesus and another DNF from a woman who has waited three years to race.

Sean Burke

The guy who did a 2:18 bike split at outlaw 2 weeks ago… then jogged in two get a 5 hour time…

It obviously worked, 10:35 today, 4 th in 35-40 Ag.

Kona bound if it happens.

Nice chap.

Yeah, maybe my indecision over short v long course training has a just been made for me.

My old mate Mark Livingston “ The Guvner “

We are 2 all in races over a 25 year period.

11:22 today

4 th in 50-55 today … I wouldn’t have been near him today great result.

Dave Smith 8 th 40-45 with a 3:20 marathon, nearly two hours faster than 2019!

More importantly everyone I know who raced is currently not injured.

11:22 in those conditions is pretty decent.

Congrats @SidSnot

He loves rain, mud, gales, slippy roads, rough roads… harder the better .

Ideal course for him.

He’s a good athlete who works 60? Hours a week in his role… fair play to him.

Gutted for you @Poet, really shotty luck. Like for many it was relief to see you pop back up on the timing system even if it was a mistake.

Well done @SidSnot awesome race!

Come on TC :clap:t3:

so the 100 slots here and lanza are 2021 i assume ,

so what would the travel implications be for those deserving slot winners

WTC have said, if you get a slot and take it, you pay your money and you go
If you can’t go, then tough

It’s harsh, but they’ve been really upfront about it.

I think they don’t want people thinking no one will take a slot this year, so people will, then defer to next year, but there’ll be no room

Yep @Toyota_Crown still trucking on. Got about 10kms left and looking like he may be able to squeak a sub 13

Are many people outside the US going to take the chance? I mean it’s quite a risk and quite a sum of money.
