It’s the lights and junctions that kill the average.
So many temporary lights, too.
Right at the bottom of bloody hills, so you can’t scoot up the other side with momentum and are constantly scrubbing off going down.
Also…none of those Strava segments or loops people are doing include the Bolton town centre part…not that you need to, because riding round the back of “bin alley” is awful…but that scrubs loads off the average pace.

I’ve just looked at the entry list for Bolton. In my AG there are only 4 people, with AWA Gold and Silver, who look like decent KQ contenders. Tony Cullen, who is easily the fastest always seems to reject a Kona Spot. Looks like a really easy field
It’s still 4 months away. I’m seriously considering Roth Deferral and going to Bolton.
China is begining to relax restrictions, 7 weeks after locking down Wahun. Bolton is 17 weeks away.

But how many others will also be doing the same? (i.e. moving to later events). Also, what has happened in China probably won’t play-out the same here, for various governmental, infrastructure and human geography reasons.

Appologies, but I only looked at AWA Gold and Silver, as I have to look at all manually on ObsTri site.
