Should they really be in the same sentence ?

Kona q
Should they really be in the same sentence ?
Also a good site…
Yeah, that one’s much better
That’s my go to results site now
If I look at the entry list for IM Switzerland, which is on the same day: List is is twice as long
I get that…
But in these things you never know who’s turning up…
A guy did the short IMUK 2018, the one that wasn’t a full distance race, one and done he went 9:20 ?.. he hadn’t raced for years and never did again.
3 spot last year 50-55 hadn’t raced for two years.
There’s some very fast short course athletes that put some extra hours in and they can Kona q quite easily.
It’s not only AWA that take the slots, I’ve been cold called by two athletes for info about Bolton, one is an even faster biker than you, he can’t run though…!
No chance for Lanza?
There’s a bit missing off this
The golf club bit?
Mike seddon on Facebook will put you right it’s only a mile or so I think
Completely agree with you. The AWA athletes are easy to quantify, as they have a load of past performance data to analyse. I have no idea what the percentage KQ athletes are not AWA Gold or Silver, unfortunately difficult to get this information.
My purpose was to assess whether Bolton or Switzerland would be better for me. Logistically Switzerland wins hands down, however, the quality of the AWA field looks much stronger, and I would assume that this would also be the case with the non AWA field as well
Yep, you know with in a certain % what they are capable of.
Living local… ish has to help… but the little I know of you, IMUK should suit your skills, 101% wet suit swim
Slightly less hilly bike this year, but a good honest course, we’re a fast descender with big power spikes can do real damage.
Flat ish run apart a steady drag and a sharp rise in the park.
You be put a lot into your Lanza shot …but these are crazy times
Lots on IMJ journey stating they have already stopped training for Austria.
Some looking to defer, I think one is a shifter around your age but maybe younger…!?
Given a fair crack of the whip I’ll be surprised if you don’t KQ but with all these early season races pulled … will it even go ahead for the AG athletes?!
Will there be an increased number of KQ places at races to compensate for those races which are cancelled?
Just posted the same on other thread. Could be almost 600 slots to allocate accross 11 races… big Kona roll downs?
Yeah, but whilst everyone in the UK will continue to swim through this episode, your 4 month swim hiatus will see you hit the beach in 1:30. So I’d wait until next year.
I could breststroke in 1:20
Then cycle what?
Have you ever done 400m breaststroke, then got out of the pool???
Bye bye legs!
You’re probably right, poorly thought through strategy. I’ll just have to settle for a 1:30 swim then
It’s ok. Global warming will mean a cancelled swim in the Flash due to unprecedented algae levels, so it’ll be a Du. Now you’re quids in again!
Expect the unexpected
IT BETTER EFFING NOT BE!!!
The swim sorts the triathletes from the MAMILs
Seriously though, if you have 4 months off swimming, and your competitors have little to no break; what sort of swim deficit would you predict? As an AOS, I would expect your drop-off to be noticeable.
Wait a minute … are you talking Raz Prince here?!
Dude, I was in the Forces for 20+ years. I could sit here for the rest of the day and reel out sound-bites
I notice @Poet has cottoned-on to a nugget of one
