NOPE!
With no triathlons in the UK until 30th June, to allow this to go ahead on 12th July would be utterly mad.
Jorgan called the 2020 season off 9 days ago.
He was right.

Yeah looks like I could have nearly 2 years between triathlons; IM Hamburg was my last on 29/07/2019! It would be easy to let the whole Triathlon thing wither-on-the-vine. I certainly predict the participation figures to fall away as a result of CV-19; races too obvs.
Think it’s a good call to write off any races this season, even if they haven’t yet been called off. I’m so glad they called the olympics, athletes must have been going crazy. Hopefully other races will follow…
Sad but true…!
Yes now i have come out of the swim bike run bubble ,am thinking maybe its time to draw a line under the adventure and just go back to being a jogger
The most important thing for us Vets, is to stay fit whatever we do, and then a return to Tri at some point should be easy enough. The swimming will always take a bit of time though.
I’ve never been a triathlete, or a weightlifter, or a bodybuilder or an ultra fitter or a cyclist or a runner.
I’m just your standard fitness fanatic.
Triathlon is the easiest / hardest way to test all the hours.
I’ve swore twice a decade apart that I’d never race apart, I’ll race again … for sure.
It’s still a brill sport, with some brill people … I couldn’t and wouldn’t want to give it up.
Maybe we can go back to grass roots events more, which feel like more of an adventure. It’s just getting people to wean themselves off branded events, and the RDs to stage them.
Cornwall had some amazing races; alas most have been phased out over the years. Perranporth is still there for anyone who wants something properly challenging; and there are some good swim-run races I think (but not done).
Helvellyn
That would be good,… back to local sprints, where you know everyone you’re racing against, and share a beer with them afterwards.
The scene has changed, and we’ve lost a lot (but not all) of that.
…or a pasty
fantastic event bet its lovely up there today
I just want to have a proper shot at KQ so that I can give up Ironman.
Really hope I can still get a shot this year.
I said that for a decade… hope it comes good however it comes good. How’s the 5w/kg going? I’m another kilo lighter now but I think the weight is only going to go up now that I am a bit less active… will do the 20min test again the week after next I think…
Bit stuck on 4.5w/kg, but only been riding on the Turbo: I can maintain more power outside on a decent hill.
On the plus side I am now consistently around 69kg (I’ve not maintained sub 70kg since the age of 16).
Hoping to raise my ftp next week, so we will see then
12 th Sept …?!?
That would be an amazing date for me to try to salvage something of this season.
12th September? Is that a suggested new date?
Isn’t that a Saturday?
If so it’s also plucked out the air with no real idea whether it will actually go ahead or not, and is just dragging people along.
We have no real idea yet how many cases we’re going to see in the next week, although granted hopefully in 7d we may be able to do better forecasting if confident we know about most pre-lockdown hospital cases.
But my point is 6 months is a lot of unknowns, especially if they factor in training time.
