Never even thought about a charge back, or done one. I paid for Outlaw Half on 13 Jan, via Active using my Visa debit card. Can I get it back ?
If it’s within 120 days, you may be able to.
If you’ve paid on a CC and they cancel it, postpone it, you might be able to dispute it anyhow.
The Ts&Cs state no refund for unforeseen events, but I don’t think that’d hold now…
You’ve probably seen it now, but Outlaw have said they’ll offer refunds if it comes to it in their latest email

No way it can happen I don’t think. Ironman should call all the events now. Put people out of their purgatory. The Olympics is going. The ITU should call things too. Edmonton world final is still on and that was my target for 2020. Call it now! Can Kona even happen?

No Kona can’t really happen. Even if we’re back up and running by Oct, the qualification system will be in tatters. They’ve just got to accept it.

Totally agree. Same as all these other events. Glastonbury took its time to cancel, and that had to be THE filthiest germ infested pit in the country when it’s on!

IOC are still dithering, but looks like they might be pushed.
My emails to WTC and their replies really show their heart and commitment to athlete safety 
The reason Kona will NEVER happen, is because the Hawaiian Islands will be closed to all foreigners. Locking the islands down to any travel is an easy way to keep the CV out, or at least limit it internally.
I can’t even see Wales or Weymouth going ahead let alone Staffs, Bolton & Cork.
IM Blackpool anyone? Promenade should be nice and quiet

I’m not convinced by this virtual Ironman stuff either. I’ve been meaning to write something on my thoughts on “the future of Ironman”. I’ll get around to it soon…
I heard something about it being a game of “chicken” between Japan and the IOC due to compensation payments from the side that cancels. I do hope not.

Deferred to 2021.
Training for fun, crap after all the graft, but as discussed a million times already the World and us have much bigger problems than Bolton Ironman.

Makes sense Mungo, you’ll struggle for consistent training before the race even if some restrictions get lifted in April or May.
If it goes ahead so many people are going to be undertrained it will be dangerous. And they’ll struggle to reschedule unless they can do late August or early September.

We can’t swim anywhere, can’t use gyms and can’t really train outside without getting loads of grief and putting a possible strain on the NHS… look at Joe Skip yesterday …!
