This move by (Fe)man is all about £££$$$$€€€ and nothing else ,getting bums on seats people speanding money on and at events .
A business trying to make money? Outrageous!
Try telling that to supporters of the ESL clubs
What he said
I think there’s probably a few parallels between owning a football club and owning the Ironman brand.
In both cases, you’ve got a load of people who feel ownership of your business, have strong opinions about how you should be running it and resent it if you’re making money out of it
U are like - 2 of me! How the fuck did that happen?!
I’m going to have an extra deliveroo tonight and some wine
and times 2. fuck me
And I’ve already had 2 bottles
Do you have shares in Deliveroo?!
GTN are following me to races

They’ve just announced they’ll be up at IMUK to cover the $100k pro race.
@SidSnot - Looks like Kona might be on, too.
Recent XTerra announcement:
“ At this time, Hawaii is open to tourism and quarantine can be avoided with a negative covid test from state-approved providers within 72 hours of departure. The state is talking about vaccine passports and other measures to ease restrictions, keep communities safe, and stimulate the economy at the same time”
Feeling good about this now after the weekend

The sub-5hr century on the TT bars was only the second time I’ve done that in training, first time the last 15-20km was in snow, wind and hail and rain.
That built some mental resilience.
Did a nice 16km jog Sunday AM on tired legs.
Felt like a proper weekend warrior

Then went out Sunday PM and did another 8km on even more tired legs.
Second run was quicker for lower HR, too.
Starting to feel tired now and looking at the plan for the next rest day

Not doing the TT tonight as it’s chucking it down and my bike is clean

Go on Zwift and do some recovery instead.
I took a look at BBS and was surprised what it’s spitting out for me, not sure how I can make up 10 minutes per lap…but, I’ve previously been 10% quicker on race day, so #AnythingIsPossible
Got a midweek day off next week for a lap or two (or three if it’s nice!)
Going to assess some of the downhill sections, as I’m the worst on them…I reckon there’s a good few that’ll be far better on race day with closed roads/junction Marshall’s
Power of the crowd.
Or race wheels, stupid helmet, non-flappy clothing and a decent taper and 10 days of sleep and not being utterly exhausted?
But yeah, power of the crowd and Tail-Win(d)

Those junctions and closed roads will make a difference, but not the 15 minutes per lap some idiots think

@Mungo2 - I’ve got some Zipp FC404s and SwissStop yellows, but they’re still awful in the wet.
My alloy ones aren’t much better in the wet, to be fair.
We rack on Saturday, so decision has to be made there.
From memory, none of the descents are too bad?
There’s only Sheephouse and the one before you turn left past that pub (where there’s a hill) that I thought weren’t great.
If it’s wet that weekend, survival mode will be engaged😱
Jesus
We could do the swim in that one !
I’m trying to get a pic of the really bad one on a right hand bend at about 24? Miles.
I recon there would still be someone caught in a riptide and missing the cutoff
Have you tried Black Prince pads yet?
Not yet, no.
I think they’re £36/pair.
But then you’re still alive, so seems like a small price to pay
go well with £350 jacket from le col/mclaren
Now, can I be arsed to change the 55/42 for my recce on Wednesday
Rear cassette looks big enough to me
Ouch…!!
Stick that on IMJ
