Portugal is off the green list now…
Portugal isn’t in Bolton.
This isn’t the Bolton Variant of the Covid thread.
Covid free zone here!
All about training…or beer.
I don’t know what I like more
best put them TT bikes back in sheds won,t be needed on jul 4th 9once we back in lockdown 4)
Christ that’s shifting. I went 6.58 that year!
You know IMUK is in Bolton, England, right?
Not Portugal?
It’s on baby!
I’m feeling extra fine at the moment, like a coiled spring, ready for action.
think we getting a nibble
Nibble?
I’ve ate the whole worm, your rod, and you.
This ain’t no Jaws, they’ve closed the beach.
And demonstrating further confidence of the organising team, they’ve just announced a new Bolton 70.3 in September
Fundraising for IM UK organisers?
Might enter it so I can get a place in 2022 when they ask me to defer
looking like the same bike loop too
Interesting that they’re offering slots for Taupo 2022. Thought that race would have been canned
Ironkids has been moved to the new date. You’d be mighty pissed off if you had planned a family weekend and now have to make a second trip so your kids can run (or not bother as is most likely)
Nope, they’re pushing Taupo quite a bit, the 70.3 in Holland has 30 slots for it. I’ll be surprised if 30 people are willing to take the risk.
It will probably be like the one in South Africa a few years ago, at Edinburgh for roll-down they asked for a show of interested hands, weren’t bothered about age cat etc, 48 people put their hand up for 50 slots.
Absolutely no way I’d risk it. A Euro race I’d probably take a punt but not chancing a race on the other side of the world with very strict limitations on who is coming in and out!
Taupo is December 2022, right? I guess it’s possible that NZ might be open to foreign visitors again by then
Still a bit of a punt though…
I reckon they’re probably getting a bit twitchy about it even now. NZ are playing it very safe and even 16 months is looking iffy for them having a full reopening.
They should be vaccinated but after their IM was delayed with about a weeks notice you’d need to be brave to chance it.
The race is one thing, but you would want to combine it with a holiday in NZ, bring the family, book flights, accommodation etc with no guarantees that the airlines and the holiday companies will even be in business this time next year.
