I vaguely recall the heat and hiding behind the stand for some cover. Think it got that boring I left early
“Is that a meal deal snack pack in your Trisuit or are you just etc etc”
Wasn’t it Lange in his first Kona win who kept pulling masses of stuff out of his trisuit
Your trisuit isn’t white is it?! A whole bunch of stashed red grapes down the front could get interesting!
I just think racing should be fun, too!
At Outlaw 2019 I stashed some corporate promotional items (branded golf cap and water bottle) in my run special needs to carry over the line, in order to win a prize at work
Serious Question.
Anyone ever swam breast stroke 2.5 miles in a wetsuit?
Likely outcome ?!
I’m an average breast stroker, furthest recently is about 100m?!? would I make cut offs?
In a mess in t1?
I often wonder about people who ask for important advice on the internet, but these are desperate times….
Could you not just do the bike/run option?
I’m not injured, but have finished an iron distance race on one leg and ended up not being able to walk for a fortnight, no running properly for months afterwards…although my swim time did get under 1:30/100m because of it!
Easy for me to sit here and say “2.4 miles of breaststroke is gonna kill your knees, it’s a no from me”
I get real out of breath doing BR, as I rarely do it!
Most of the BOPers will be bobbing around doing BR, doggy paddle and all sorts of strokes they’ve made up.
It most certainly isn’t swimming as we know it
You’ll be a mess in T1, yes, but as time doesn’t seem that important to you anymore, you can take your time and relax and get super ready for the bike…
…or you’ll cause yourself a mischief that’ll haunt you forever?!
Thanks
I’m not doing bike/ run… or in my case bike fast walk.
I’d rather dns.
I wouldn’t try and run but I’m quite a fast Walker !
Very slow jogging ( 9 kph? ) is certainly easier today but I’m only doing 100ms or so.
Is there any point in emailing Ironman for a last minute deferral?
In normal times I know the answer to expect but you never know?
Seems a shame with all the work you’ve put in the have a crap day out there
Yeah!
It does say “at any point if you don’t feel comfortable” …
Tell them you had a positive test …
COVID tho… not pregnancy or anything!
If he keeps them down the back and puts in a good time then he might get the offer of sponsorship from a rubber ring manufacturer.
Breastroke kick in a wetsuit is very difficult in my experience; certainly if you don’t have very sinky legs.
But that’s just an illness, which you could get any number of…can I have a deferral for this malaria I caught, please?
Well no, cos there are no rules saying you can’t attend something if you have malaria. But there are for Covid.
Good point…
I have very sinky legs … all my suits were bought for there leg lift as a first consideration.
The older foor quantum you literally can’t kick your legs, think two and a half pull buoys, at least.
I’ve seen as much difference as 20-25 secs per 100 in the past compared to straight front crawl in a pool.
I always doss the swim anyway, 1:10 in 2019 was effortless.
Not sure frog kick would be the same.
There is now a breastroke specific wetsuit from Zone3 https://www.proswimwear.co.uk/zone3-men-s-aspect-breaststroke-wetsuit.html
