sounds like the bike section then!! :rage:
I haven’t done any research* yet to see who it was but near the end of my 2nd lap, into the wind, and right at an official photographers* point by chance, and 3 faster lads were BLATANTLY wheel sucking in a 3 up, with the tail gunner looking nervously to the rear checking for a motorbike marshal.
Whilst forgetting that everyone they were passing was witnessing their cheating and could plainly see their antics. pretty sad tbh.

I’m thinking so! Maybe it was just the (NW?) direction of the frankly only moderate wind, but the bike was an absolute drainer. and that’s saying something after last years monsoon for lap2. (which weirdly was so Type1 fun I enjoyed and thrived on, despite being prone to getting cold when wet. )

certainly didnt seem easier than last year, despite the changes that on paper seemed to be easier?
nb. loved it, especially the new out n back down/up hill. I recorded a 35 best on the speed sign. (yes only 35, as its near the end and your starting to slow for the 180 turn.)

most folks were trundling down it on the drops??!. only a few like me going like feck on the tri bars. what’s not to like, as it wasn’t technical. great fun.

everyone’s missed out! where were you FFS??
the only MDot course in the world remotely like it is Wales. Bolton is an utter classic. :sunglasses:
A real hard mans course. A Must Do. we are truly blessed.
all the others are pussy.
for all the stick they attracted, the original organiser’s TriUK chose three very hilly bike courses (Sherborne & Bolton & Wimbleball). and that legacy lives on in Bolton. So bless em. :+1:

massive fairplay to anyone who finished that yesterday, most especially all the noobs.

cant see whats wrong with the sw1m?. ok its murky, but I don’t follow feet anyway. I liked the new clockwise course. the sighting of the numerous buoys was the best its ever been this year, idiot proof. Further helped by it being mainly overcast so you weren’t blinded on the return. tho the sun did unhelpfully pop out a bit for some of the return at one point.

Close, it has the extra heat but a flat run. Are the road surfaces better. They add to the misery at Bolton :joy:

Little Doris was saved !

Persuaded her ( big Doris) it was a bad idea!

You looked well in your yellow hat, people were shouting TC when you came round… we’ll done!

They ran the whole marathon together too ?

Could have been them I guess, cheating though

cheers. ok a random previous picture then, what is a ‘cat pod’ ?
a bloke spectating/supporting at the outlaw a couple of yrs ago had a (v.tame!) soft small cat perched casually on his shoulder. :open_mouth: :sunglasses:
poss not even harnessed! it was obviously a chilled furry dude.

My Doris is a princess ( cat) but she’s scared of people and petrified of cars ( thankfully )

Bolton town hall wouldn’t be a nice place for her

Cat pod is real I’ll get a picture, she likes going in it, but only in the house.

not saying that, but it just prompted me to call it out. dunno who it was. I overtook a bloke called ‘Ashley’ labouring on a drag with a disc, assumed he was a random numpT like me, but then he came past with a camera crew on him and disappeared. first person who I was conscious of being a leader lapping me. then a bloke who’s name tag looked like Elam ?? (tho obvs thats wrong). then the 3 very blatant drafters I think.

sorry i assumed it was an outdoor thing for taking cats out with you!
defo bad idea in your instance!

excuse for a cat pic anyhow

It’s for outside I think.

She walks up the street with her in it?! Bolton would have been too busy.

Agree I was happy enough with Bolton swim 2019.
Murky, but calm, good temp, well sighted. OK 2nd lap carnage but that’s a bit inevitable with numbers and the Aussie exit.

Not done Wales, but I love UK for no good reason. Proper course. Maybe I need to do Ireland too.

Swims pretty tame but the bike and run aren’t. And they’ve made the bike course harder since I was there.

Right … I could drop a million names here but I never really liked that nickname to be honest.

Briefly well done to the ledg iron rookie for his 6 th consecutive IMUK 16:14? With loads to spare, he will be in the lash till Xmas now ( that’s not actually a joke)

Ste Walton got his AWA bronze hat ! His main focus is the mental lakes half next weekend so plodded round by his usual standard.

Phil Coyle , prison governor ( I can say that on here as I’m pretty sure we have no real terrorists or OCG members…?!)
With a pitiful amount of training got round and he’s a one and done hero.

Success story is BIG curt mcdonald with a 2.5 hour improvement in 2019.
5 th in a very competitive AG. He was neck and neck with the peacock on the bike, a real effort for a 95 kg man on a hilly course.

Even his girlfriend is fast… there off

to the big island it’s a great race.
