Wonder if this is a first step towards having a credible way to assign Kona spots via virtual racing…?

Thats exactly what it is.

@Matthew_Spooner
I may be walking back my comments on Rouvy’s realism. I linked it up to my PM while I was doing a TR workout on the trainer - under/overs with long rest sessions so no exactly perfect output but it gave me 45km of the Boulder 70.3 course in 1h21 at 0.79IF or 203W avg 3w/kg which seems reasonablly fast.

No Rouvy for me on my Computrainer, unless I use a bit of software to make it seem like it’s wireless

Coolio

Start mine tonight - hard 3km
40km out on the time trial bike at no more than brisk tempo effort (210W)
Dunno how hard I’ll run the 10km on Sunday, might depend on how a couple of mates are doing

Sunday night - on Ironman EU to buy the swag cos I’m still a total mark for the product :joy::+1:

3k done - as hard as I could -6.55 min mile pace, heart coming out my chest at that !

40km TT done @ 22.1mph 218W 2.97 w/kg - tempo ride - could have held a conversation at that effort so chuffed with first outing on the TT bike.

All to plan so far - just the 10km tomorrow :+1:

You can swim 1900m faster than you can run 5 k?!?

Or the duathlon does your legs…!?

Du’s wreck your legs!

Yeah the additional miles on the legs rather than the speed of my swim.

Although I tend to jog these short run substitutes to about the swim time.

That said I cant recall my 1500m time!

Plus Ive got some kind of mild stomach bug thats making me dizzy and visit the toilet frequnetly, Ill see if I can do it tomorrow.

Gave it a go today. Such a slog in the heat!! Sprint distance would have been more pleasant.

Now I can sit back and wait for the world records to land in my age group.

Need to get more of a wiggle on to catch the leader so far, leader so far …

What a load of bollocks. He can only run 3km in just under 11 mins but then smashes out a 10km in 32 mins?

Slow starter…?!

Marcin B will be glad there’s no races this year…

He’s only a smidge off the national 25 record…!

Utter carp

Perhaps, as Joe does, he is taking it easy on the 3km to better simulate his 1500m swim time.

I looked up the comp record and it would put him 2nd or 3rd fastest of all time.

Fair play to him though - go easy on the first 3km, smash a near record 25 miler and then top it with a very tidy 10km that would put him
Top 10 I’m my local 10k

At 42 just shows you can never be too old :medal_sports:

Check out the 6 th placed fella …!

Even at my present weight I could stay with him on the run…

But that’s the fastest bike in history … or close

He would need to be 7 watts per kilo + to get near that…

Reminds me a bit of a triathlon show I was at years ago, one of the big shops had an indoor mini duathlon competition, treadmill & wattbike or something.

One lad who I think won was basically cheating as he was propping himself up on the arms of the treadmill letting the belt pull his legs along at about 20kph, and the stupid PA bloke didn’t realise

I thought they were cutting all this bollocks out?
