FP you have talked me into it…….and Mrs Hen said enter it………no red wine influence so only got my sober self to blame!
Good man. have you booked anywhere to stay?
Didn’t take much!

No accommodation yet, and no didn’t take much I am very easily led astray
Best add me to this little outing.
Entered this afternoon.
Last time in Tenby 2014 and a 14:05 finish - need to sort that out ![]()
I had the weirdest dream last night. We were at IM Wales, I’d borrowed a TT bike, the swim was in a pool but we had to wait for everyone to finish before we could ride. I ended up going the wrong way, ended up in a dodgy town where two of my Aussie mates chased me down the road to try and tried to steal my phone.
I hadn’t even eaten any pizza last night! ![]()
Have you entered it?
Yep, and I’ve done the course 5 times, so a bit perplexed as to how I got lost

Fantastic race report and great write up! Well done.
It’ll be more exciting than my actual race ![]()
That’s weird, I’m wearing my 2018 shirt but it’s under another layer. Dress like a golfer, play like a golfer ![]()
Only cos I’m in Madeira and it’s warm.
Otherwise It’d be under two layers of clothing cos I’m too tight to put the heating on ![]()
Meadow Farm Campsite opened for their '23 bookings at 0000 this morning. My internal Jack Reacher alarm clock had obviously been primed because I woke at 0005 & booked a pitch for the IMW weekend…support role only ![]()
Don’t be shit Tigers.
Late to the party, but I am in as well
I don’t think there’s gonna be much smacking down. We may know who’s gonna win this one already! ![]()

Be good to have a catch up up though for sure!
I’ll put this here for want of a better place. I’m trying to map out roughly next year’s plan.
Overall plan is to a solid year of 50km ultras to build some strength and speed. I’m likely to bail on SDW100 miler and do RttStones 100km in early July. All good there.
I haven’t ridden much in the last two years (probably less that 500km all up). I need to incorporate more next year of course and swim and find time to do it all.
My rough plan was to carry on with the run volume at 50km p/w min and an alternate 14 day training cycle of a long run. (probably a 50km race).
I’m planning on bringing in the swimming after Easter, twice a week for 45 mins, this has got me through before. Plus any sea swims I can get in.
I’m thinking that 5-6hrs p/w cycling would be a sweetish spot here on top of the running and swimming. Some turbo/some road.
Does this sound like a ‘headline plan’? obs needs tweaking.
FP sounds good to me. I always have an idea of what I think I should be doing however realistically what is achieveable is a different plan.
Consistency is King, do what you can ……regularly. I think, like me, you are looking for solid performance, the folks at the pointy end will be done and dusted by the time I roll home.
Cheers mate and remember, the longer we’re out there, the more value we’re getting ![]()
That’s roughly a 13 hour week. So not insignificant. But agree that consistency is the name of the game here, with a few key sessions and big weeks to really ramp up that load and volume. As long as you remember to be flexible with it. We all have up weeks and down weeks, and not feeling the pressure of the training requirements (easier said than done) on top of that will do wonders for the longer term consistency and mental health!
