I am so so looking forward to this evening and Saturday. I even have hope that Ironman will actually manage to pull off their claim that we’ll be able to see multiple cameras on course this time on the live stream.
Good luck to those racing, and to those trying to stay awake to watch/support. I made it to 10:30pm last night. I’m going to see if I can sneak in a tactical lunchtime nap today to give me a chance for later.

Good luck @Matthew_Spooner , can’t wait to track how you re going.
Since you can’t dope on race day the hypothesis is that doping will improve your race day performance by training more, longer, harder with less recovery time. But when we’re at the point already where the training volume gives stress fractures, can there really be much more head room in training volume for a modern day LD professional without getting injured? That was my point.

I’ve got to go to actual work tomorrow for a big 2028 strategy launch event thing with all the exec etc. Hoping there’ll be loads of people so I can hide in the back of the lecture theatre! Though if it’s anything like my uni days I’ll be asleep in under 3 mins.

My 2023 accommodation got cancelled on Tuesday. Definitely feels like they’ve realised Ironman is in town, current prices, and looked at next year’s dates.
Probably not gonna bother rebooking.
