Perhaps you need a skipping rope?
Tri…!
I could give anyone on here a 6? Hour programme per week…
You would hardly get out of breath, you’d hardly sweat you wouldn’t need over priced pieces of carbon, frustrating tech and crazy expensive clothing.
Not once would you need to get up early, you would eat less but you wouldn’t ever really be hungry.
In 12 months time … you 1000000% would look better.
But… would you feel challenged, you wouldn’t be able to swim, bike or run or most of the other stuff hardly at all.
Anyone who does tri for body aesthetics is very very confused.
I do actually have one. We got a kiddies one and an adults one free from some school initiative. I tried it once and it was flippin knackering. Sod that!!
Speak for yourself @Mungo2, i’m freakin ripped son.
But your arms are super skinny…?
Well they should be?
I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder blah blah blah !
The guy with the best physique I know smokes/ vapes non stop.
He couldn’t run for a bus, he can’t swim but he looks fantastic…
Trains 5? Hours a week.
haha - i’m teasing.
Though i’d say in pure runner/trafleet terms my arms are flippin massive! lol
Huge…!!!
I almost responded in the IronCowboy thread where people queried his ripped physique. I fully believe if I was swimming 3.8km per day for 100 days I’d be looking like that. I guess I’m what SwimSmooth call an Arnie, someone who relies on power rather than technique. But when I swim semi-regularly (2/3 times a week) I seem to gain upper body muscles mass.
It’s all relative I guess…
My pt has 20? Inch arms, mine must have been 18 ish in my early thirties.
Amazing achievement for sure, but compared to today’s fitness models … he’s no were.
But they are on drugs 100%, rumours are he was too … I guess he’s only Racing himself.
Yeah that’s about perfect. Exactly what my local was like last week.
They did something similar at Challenge Iceland where they dipped it in the shallows and said the water temp was fine at 14 degrees. In reality it was 11. Coldest swim of my life
I think they dip it the kettle for a minute before they measure the swim at Helvellyn every year
Challenge Iceland…
The clue is in the title, bloody hell 11… that’s nasty
Had to wait in all day for a delivery that hasn’t arrived . So, some TLC on the bike this afternoon.
New cassette, new chain (gold kmc, so worth more watts ), new rim tape, new latex tubes and a new gp5000 back tyre (front is only a few weeks old).
Accumulation of marginal gains!
One of my new latex tubes must’ve got pinched going in…
So back on normal tubes, and that’s my excuse for a 6 hour bike .
The wind forecast currently looks awesome. South East as we head out, but strong south Westerly up the coastal road.
Wind speed halves when we come back inland to ride into it.
Praying for that not to change
It was summer and it was supposed to be 24 degree and 16/17 in the water. That weekend the weather was freakish and the pro field suffered big time Brad Kahlefeldt got in the water for a warm up got out and refused to race. Tim Don finished the swim and ran to the catering tent to borrow a pair of marigolds as his hands were so cold he need something for bike as it was lashing down.
All that prep… out the window.
The coldest water ive ever been in was a swimming pool outside in Benidorm in Jan.
No idea how cold, had a suit… it was awful.
Bala was cool but lovely and clean.
12k run done. Legs feel fine, foot pain persists. Not running past 5k now to try and let that settle.
2200m ish in the lake. Felt much better/faster (helped keeping in touch with a mate who dropped me like a rock 2 weeks ago).
Got 2 about 2k when the shoulder decided it had had enough.
Very glad we have a beach exit after lap 1. Emergency shoulder stretches will be on the cards.
2 hour tempo on the bike tomorrow… And then tick over.
7.5 days
Nice work
If it makes you feel better, I had a truly shite session on the bike today.
165km planned, abandoned at 95km.
You’ve done the work, just manage those niggles and you’ll be good
