This letter to the FT sums it up really
If you mean it’s a contemptible joke. Yes.
What’s contemptible about it? It succinctly highlights both the absurdity of the restrictions and that they are at least as much about money as public health.
I mean the Govt’s approach.
Yeah I don’t think I will be doing the AoA recce, even if it is on (which I doubt). 16 people in a community ctr for two nights exceeds my risk threshold.
I’ve just read Manchester have delayed their marathon until October 21 instead of April.
I think there’ll be a lot more yet.
Wouldn’t plan on many big events in spring.
I wonder if Newport will follow (meant to be April 25th I think)
Yeah, I’m feeling the same is likely to happen with Boston.
Yes, I can’t see it happening until September onwards. I’m sure they will try and run it at some point though. But I might give it a miss next year depending on timing.
Yeah, unless it works out fairly well with my deferred IM’s, then I have no real option which is annoying
AoA recce has been canned. No great surprise there.
Didn’t you hear. Christmas is canned.
Finally some good news
I can live with Xmas but if they could bin Halloween and bonfire night I’d be as happy as Sloggers finding a submarine!
I actually heard a few fireworks on my brick run this evening, probably Middlesbrough’s finest.
What re you saying, I used to live in South Bank would spend weekends in the Raglan in town Drinking Guinness, running up Roseberry top (I think maybe Eston Nab) or on the beach at Redcar inhaling the yellow fumes from the ICI factory. Crumbs that was a long long time ago
If you ran up the nab now you’d need to avoid the fumes from the burning cars! Or kids with knives.
This made me chuckle. Tim Reed and Tim van Berkel have been fully housebound isolating for the past 2 weeks in order to race IM Cairns.
you, Sir, win the internet with that!
I just mailed Mud Crew and told them to keep my £20 deposit for the AoA recce. If it helps them out a bit to survive, I don’t mind.
