Nike Zoom Fly/Vaporfly 4 and NEXT% - The Thread

Wait until you get to 50 and you’ll be over 75 then :grimacing::pig:

I was thinking about starting another post, but since the subject has kind of come up here, does anyone have experience with non-Nike super shoes? I find it really interesting that there doesn’t seem to be any proper quantitative comparisons between them.

The Saucony Endorphin Pro does seem to have some decent reviews, and at £190 is a fair bit cheaper.

i did tip, just, over 75 for the first time during the last xmas break. :grimacing:

But i’m certainly not in the proper lightweight class. Well i don’t think so anyway!

I’ve never looked tbh. What have we got?

Nike - 4%, Next % and Alphafly
Saucony Endorphin Pro
Brooks Hyperion Elite
Hoka Carbon X
Asics Metaracer (have opted for no carbon)
Adidas adizero Adios Pro (had to look that one up)

Seen those Adidas popping up with the Insta types recently

Like they’ve been given them to PIMP them out???

You seen “Pls Like” on BBC3?
Or “Fake Famous” from HBO?

Stuff like this.

Nothing against the fella, he probably pays for them. But quite a few along similar lines

Looks like there is the ‘Brooks Hyperion Elite 2’ as mentioned above already.

Plus:
New Balance FuelCell RC Elite

There are some others (e.g. On Cloud) but they have pretty poor reviews.

as others have said there’s the new balance RC elite as well. I’ve got the FuelCell Propel and Rebel and I really like them. I’d love to try the RC elite as it has the same fuel cell foam but they are near enough impossible to find.

SNOW UPDATE

I’ve ran a sub20 5km in the snow in 4% with zero grip problems. And proper snow it was.

On dry ground and laying fresh powder tonight, the Next% were all over the place.

@Matthew_Spooner - where’s this Swiss eBay type site? :roll_eyes::stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

@Poet This is the site https://www.ricardo.ch/de/s/nike%204%/

However, none are listed at the moment. However, I emailed the seller, and she responded that she has 4 pairs left

2 * 44 in red
1 * 42 in red
1 * 40 in red

The price is 145chf, which is about £120

Not sure about price to send from Switzerland to UK, probably around £10. If these are of interest to anyone, happy to buy them and send to UK. I’ve got a UK bank account so would use that for any payments

Cheers @Matthew_Spooner :+1:t3:

I’m a canoe EUR47 in these :sob:
Which is annoying for me :triumph:

However, I’ve just seen NSRL apparel.
So I’ve found something else to spaff my cash on :sweat_drops::money_with_wings:

You think you’ve got problems. EUR49.5 here

Pipe down titchy feet😉

Yeah - I remember you saying something like that.
Probably why you can’t find any of the New Balance :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

It’s why I can’t find any anything just about. Even socks can become difficult to find above 12 lol

On a related note, it does seem this year it’s even harder to find shoes and walking boot in the sales. I wonder if there’s been less need for retailers to aggressively sell off last seasons stock as everyone is a Walker/runner these days

Yes. And bikes and just about everything else.
Not many sales at all on anything this year

I think the sale stock is just sat in closed shops.

It was obviously going to happen - but probably due to the unwillingness of the athletes to talk about it - I didn’t realise there was already a new generation of super spikes out there helping track athletes smash records recently.

@funkster - you posted a photo of your Next% (maybe Tempo%) soles after 104km and I can no longer find it :sleepy:

I’m going to hit that in mine today, so was looking to compare wear…
