I trialed a pair of 4% a couple of summers ago for about 20 days. Only did 2/3 runs in them, including a sub 17 Parkrun if i recall. They felt quick, but they didn’t feel like they fit my foot very well. From reading various accounts on here i’m hoping that the Nexts are a tad wider in the mid foot/ sole bed of the mid foot (if that makes sense).
And no i haven’t, but i got a little backpay bonus from work today so … I’ve bought them on trial for now, that’s my excuse. But genuinely speaking, they will be on trial initally as i have stupid shaped feet, so they’re gonna need to be really good to warrant £200 of my money. If i do like them, then we’ll see. It’ll be backdated accounting by that point so the capital cost will have been ‘lost’ in the books. haha.
Apologies, I did ask this before but didn’t get a response. It’s my birthday in April, so I’m thinking I should get the 25% voucher tomorrow… so should I pay full price (£209) for NEXT% 2s or use the voucher on some original NEXT% which I believe would be £180 (if I can, I believe @stenard said it worked on some colours)?
The new ones seem nice, but not run in them yet. Main difference is the upper. I liked the originals, so if it’s all about money then they’re still a great shoe. Especially at 25% off.
You never know. The birthday discount might work now the initial launch drop has passed (which would be slightly frustrating, but my invincibles arrive at lunchtime, so I still got something on discount)
First impressions are as follows-
Toe box is more reinforced and feels snug compared to the previous version. The tongue is made of the woven material so when it bunches up does not rub as bad as the vapourweave and the padding is on the top and on the sides.
There is a small heel tab on the new version which should make it easier when I put elastic laces in.
The laces are the same as the Alpha’s so they stay in place.
