Nike Zoom Fly/Vaporfly 4 and NEXT% - The Thread

I must say, I did my session today in the ZF2s and they’re so much kinder on my legs. They don’t fit perfectly, not on the footbed anyway. But I do live the stretchy fly knit.

But I did 6km of work and 21kms in all. But my legs feel miles better than my steady 25kms last week in the peg 37s. I’m convinced they’re flattening and deadening the pegs, making them a worse ride to accentuate the difference between them and the zfs or zoom x or invincibles etc etc.

Don’t the ZF3 have Vapourweave; I know mine do. The ZF2 is flyknit

Ah zf2s I have then. Post above amended for posterity.

The birthday discount did work on the NEXT% 2s

Only the white colourway was available. Lots of umming and ahhing over whether to get more than one pair. Decided that I’m probably not going to do all that many events in the next year so one pair will do.

Update- my initial fear that the tow box was tighter than the original version has now subsided. Good tempo session of 5x4mins @5km pace resulted in no issues. The shoes will be put back their box until race day. Oh and you don’t get a draw string bag with them

Well that sounds pretty vile! What recoveries were you taking in that? That, for you, is way over 5km race time at 5km pace right!?

So that’s why they’re £30 cheaper.

Well that’s a bit annoying! A little over £150 is a great price for them. Nice for you!

2 min recovery in between at 5min km pace. I usually aim for 3:25-3:30 Km pace but had to detour onto a hilly route due to resurfacing issues.

Another accounts Birthday code is working for me, but I’m an 11.5 :sob::sob::sob:
And they have no 11.5 in either colourway

When I see that price, I do find myself grumbling inside my own head a little bit!

Mine arrived today. I may have access to a sneaky 20% code for next time, so at worst these will be going back to be replaced by a cheaper pair.

So as per the training thread took the Next 2s out for a spin. In the house, they felt similar to the 4%s i.e. On the narrowest part of the sole, my foot literally hangs over the edge. So wasn’t too hopeful.

Chucked them on for my run, and immediately they felt nicer than the last ones. The sole issue was non existent when actually running, and they were light, cushioned and felt efficient. No hotpots or foot issues at all.

The big test for me, after what a lot of you have reported, is how they save my legs tomorrow. Initial feedback is positive. I’m knackered, but not battered. Legs are tired but not creaking.

Didn’t want to like them, but kind of love them! :joy: Love the colour as well. Damn. I think I’m gonna be poor! :joy:

Are the ZF3 magic shoes?

I see they have a carbon plate…

No. It’s the ZoomX foam + carbon plate what makes-a-the-magic 🪄🧙🏻‍♂️🧞‍♀️

Hmm…last pair in a UK11 gave me a blister, maybe the right size would be better???

My NEXT% 2s have just arrived. They seem smaller than my ZF3s. The ZF3s have a full thumb width spare at the end while the NEXT% 2s are about half a thumb.

I guess I’ll need to take them out for a longish run and see how the feet feel. I did buy them for marathons so I’m thinking they should be on the larger size of allow for feet swelling.

Given I used a discount code, will I be able to exchange for a different size? Or if I return do I get to re-use the code?

The ZF3 have some React foam in them, not completely ZoomX.

I’m currently wearing a NEXT% 2 on one foot and ZF3 on the other, the NEXT% is noticeably softer and springier just walking round the house.

No. The code has gone

I would get in touch with them and ask and they will probably sort you out for a swap.

They have been good when I have talked to them and even had money back from them if something I had bought had been further discounted.
